Re: the rebuild begins next week for the 1966 c10

Well, it's been over a year. The truck has ran most of the year. A few set backs, but still love it. It's made 2 trips to Daytona, hit a few local parking lot shows. Still needs lots of little stuff done. Last week end, I ditched the stock flimsy carrier bearing bracket for the drive shaft. Welded in a new cross member and hung the heavy duty model offered at Napa Auto Parts. I think I will go ahead and do the rear end swap, with 1 inch lower blocks and get the rear drive shaft resized all at once. Hope to start that project this weekend. If it's not super freaking cold that is.

Future projects include, adding front shocks, new drivers door window ( to fix the track that rusted apart ), finish rebuilding the rear subframe to make the welds more safe, fix some of the leaks on the motor and tranny. Also need to replace the bed floor. The wood I used is already splitting and rotting away. I will add more pics as I get some of these projects done. OH yeah, also searching for a chain Steering wheel. Seached all over the Daytona swap meet looking for one, and believe it or not! No one had one for sale. I was floored. I know I can buy one new. It's the thrill of the chase to find a used one. So the quest continues!!
