How to change NOSE-CONE on a starter?

Can anyone walk me through how to change a nose-cone on a starter? I have a starter that bolted to the bellhousing on a manual transmission. Now I switched to a TH350 and need it to bolt to the block. First, where do I even get a different nose-cone?

I'd check a core supplier.. or a wrecking yard... i'm thinking the only place you're going to get a different nose cone is on another starter.

I'd take the opportunity to upgrade starters.. maybe a mini starter.

If you are staying with the same type starter, I'd just go and buy one at the auto parts for around $50. In some cases they're just basically looking for a rebuildable exchange and don't even check the nose cone when you bring it in.

If you do find a nose cone and want to use your starter, it's simply removing the mounting bolts, solenoid and insuring that the rotor doesn't slide out from the housing when you remove the nose cone.
