76 Terry Taurus

Few years back we bought an old 76 trailer where the wifes brother camps
knew it was leakin but didn't know where
so we torn out some old ceiling to figure it out
roof supports were toast so we went with 2x3 with cut to a curve ends to help water run off
instead of 1x2 quite spaced we did 2x3 every 16 down the roof

Re: 76 Terry Taurus

we renforced the roof as we felt my 300lbs might be to much for it
we removed the leakin hot water tank(going electric)
the bed across the back was a useless super single
going to make a king size outa it,
by removing cupboards
but to do that we had to rip out the old bed and walls down to the floor
wife made new covers for the cushions

with the wallsand floor torn out we were able to spread out the walls and with 2x4 to the roof pushed the roof back up to where it should be

Re: 76 Terry Taurus

we built a new floor with 3/4 inch plywood overlapping
if i fall threw the roof don't wana go threw the floor too
with the back opened up we slid in the new floor
supported to the roof
this floor was built in the fall when the camp is closed
and the trailer was left with the supports to the roof all winter
the next spring we started the back walls

Re: 76 Terry Taurus

it took three trys to get the angle right to hold the wide back window
1 inch foam
Rona's Vermont oak paneling
and vola two six foot singles or king size with the table is in
if you look at the old pics of the back u can see the difference now

Re: 76 Terry Taurus

Bathroom gone, turns out the shower drain was cracked leaking into the floor, nasty
floor replaced up to front bed
overlapping .75 inch plywood =1.5 inch floor with no sag
the floor is done leaving a key(loose sections to remove and overlap again as only the last 4 feet remain)

Re: 76 Terry Taurus

When the park is open it has a nine hole course
they have over 100 trailers,plus cabins/cottages
there are parties, dances, at the lodge
or the trailer crawl.......involves lots of booze and no ability to walk needed
these guys do a pig roast

Re: 76 Terry Taurus

great job on the camper, my grandparents use to take us camping in a terry of about the same vintage. Looks like a great place to camp.

Re: 76 Terry Taurus

Spring of 2010 the owners of the park were putting up new hydro/poles
When we opened we decided to build a new deck as this one was gettin soggy and moved when walked on
Insides withstood another winter no probs
no wonder it's a very weak deck

Re: 76 Terry Taurus

i tried to "draw" out my idea.....
realized i'd have to move the under supports as needed for the railing
got all the lattuce i needed from pulling out another trailer (leaving site)that was earlier stuck
The trailer site fits in the "stat holidays" threw the summer hence the xmas lights up there( i did throw the lights in the tree but they flipped and filled with water, not good!)

Re: 76 Terry Taurus

July 17th while leaving about 6-7pm a storm blew in
heard a few rumbles of thunder
took a pick of a bluejay 4 pm....seems the tree behind it got blasted just after i left
people said that the tree tops were twisting snapping up in the wind
found one cluster of trees in the bush twisted and snapped off
