Project: Tall Grass

Hey guys, been around here for a while, but Finally getting around to the rebuild of my slammed 66 er 64

My buddys have been calling it project tall grass, as one of my favorite sayings goes, throw it in the tall grass never to be seen again. any one with a farm knows wha I mean.

the truck has sat idle for a two long.

as it sits now its on a frame with a 3" Z and 10" notch and a two link.

never really happy with that im now starting fresh using a dropmember , pb arms, notch and 4 link.

here she is before the z 1.5 sectioned crossmember spindles and bagged .

in action

after the Z and some 20's

Re: Project: Tall Grass

Got a bit more work done today........

mounted the 4 link brackets I got from Porterbuilt

removed all previous leaf and 10 bolt junk this frame came with, the truck was prostreet.

then I spent an hour battling the shock mount crossmember and the crooked crossmember, the c notch was boxed in on the inside and welded to the crooked one, took some serious grinding and beating but its all out now.

NOTCH TIME!!!

Hmmmmm leave it , and bury this thing over some 35inch all terrains???

Nahhhh trim it to fit, if your wondering, the notches came from porterbuilt, and it they look lower than usual its beacuse they are, I want to put em as low as I can to keep the maximum bedspace , and im limited in tire size being a step side.

so this is all for now More tommarow.

Wow, that's quite a transformation! And I thought I was crazy for bagging a 3/4 ton.

Re: Project: Tall Grass

Also not sure if I made the right move or not, as the torque thrusts looks awsome on everything, especially my truck. but I have a verbal sale , of my 17's to PHAT TONY, they'll look great hes building a killer 72 2wd blazer

pics of his ride can be found in here...

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...ad.php?t=39938

Ive always wanted a 18's and 20's combo , and im gonna get this thing on the road this year , so boyds or intros werent in the budget, so I ordered up a set of 18x8 and 20x10 eagle 225's the front are back ordered, but they claim theyll be out this month sooo we'll see...

if they show up ill be puuumped, should look good!!!!

Re: Project: Tall Grass

Dang, I'm really diggin' those rims! I'm still torn between big rims or steelies.

Were the upper arms on the wrong side in the first pic of the new front set-up?

Re: Project: Tall Grass

Is the steering wheel going on a stock column? If so, will you post a pick of what the adapter looks like and give me a rough idea of how deep it is? Your truck is really coming along. I can't wait to see the progress pics.
