Line Montain 7-Miler '11

Well,#41 is done and it sure was fun for us spectactilators. Old4x4chev had his '69 Blazer well prepped and cut a good 10 minutes off his lap time with those new 64" rear springs. Without further ado, here are some pictures.
Lined up waiting to start:

Re: Line Montain 7-Miler '11

It sure is. This race is one of those best kept secrets kind of events. It reminds me of how things were years ago. It's grown and the word is spreading, which has brought in higher dollar rigs (and spectators like us Marylanders and Virginians). The thing is,money can't buy you a win. It's great to see these 4-wheel steer linked LS-6 custom axled full tube framed rock buggies come out and break in the first lap. Then, see some rig built off a '60s Jeep commando with home made cage and sputtering old motor finish the race.

Re: Line Montain 7-Miler '11

Thanks for the congrats guys, and excellent video and pic work special K. The rear springs was definitely a big help. Usually after a race me and Jeff cant wait to get out of the truck, but this time we were ready for a penalty lap.......i guess.....and felt like we could do some more racing.

Thanks for making the trip up north and bringing the southern refreshments. I think Johns brother is thinking about a entry next year.......right?
Now I gotta wash it and check for damage, and put some new fenders on it, and change my rear bump stops, and fittle with the carb, and and.........It never stops......does it.

We need more time up there, that's for sure. We didn't even get to cruise through Troy's for acres of used truck shopping.
Hey! I thought I posted some short clips of other (inferior) racers.

yea the old farts didn't walk the whole track so the pics/videos do not show everything there is to see like the coal road. Once you go you will always go.

The best way to see the track is behind the wheel of a racer.

A fullsize definitely gets beat up going through the course, more so than the jeeps or buggies. I haven't been to the miler since '05, one of these years I'll have to make it a point to get back up there. Congratulations Randy for finishing the "miler"

Thanks for the congrats Kurt. I used to run my 69 street Blazer at the drags there. The same one that I raced at Kempton against you. They stopped having the street drags for some reason. So I had to build a obstacle course truck to get my fix.

Re: Line Montain 7-Miler '11

In that corner where I caught Randy and that buggy a Guy came on the tight side, due to track blockage,in a full size something and took a tree out (pretty big dead one). Me and Kevln dragged it from being across the course. I know, interfering with the natural state of being . It really woulda caused some problems, though.
I wish we would have gotten over to the coal road...like we did the year SOMEONE didn't GO!! LOL
