1960-66 Big Truck Rubber Floor Mat

I thought I might post this just in case anybody else wanted to have some info.

I recently started cleaning up my 1960 C60 Viking. It didn't have a floor mat in it, and reproductions are not available for the big trucks. The fitment can be a bit of an issue since the transmission access panel (tunnel, hump, whatever you call it) is fairly flat with minimal rise.

I did some research and found one that I thought might fit pretty well for my truck. Its not "exact", but I think it turned out pretty nice for an item that is intended to be used in a different truck.

I used the floor mat that is supposed to fit a 67-72 model year truck with the small hump. I noticed those trucks had a really low transmission tunnel cover and I know the cab dimensions as far as floor pans etc. were pretty close. It took a little tugging and stretching hear and there, but I am happy with the results.

I ordered the mat from Classic Parts Part No. 39-033.

The shop was dark, but here are the photos of the almost completed installation.

What did you think of the quality of the 'rubber' material?

thanks

Yours looks like the same pattern as oem. There's a lot of threads about the quality of the after market material failing within a years time. I managed to buy soft pliable originals from the parts for sale on this forum. Mike.

Well, "good" is subject to personal opinion, but I am happy with the quality. I used one from classic parts before in my 72 K25. That particular mat was purchased around 2004 and it has been just fine. It does have a small amount of very fine dry rot splitting in it in certain areas if you look really close, but no tears or cracks. The fit on that one was really good too. I had good luck with that mat, so that's why I went with classic parts on this one.

I think its a good quality for what I paid for it. I plan on buying one from them for my 62 when I get to that point.

I hope that helps.
