Finally found a Burb and it followed me home.

Thanks to Chevybowtieguy 79! He had a lead for me on a nice 72 Burb, so I contacted the seller of this one before it was advertised. And it was only 3 hours from our home. Bought it today and had a nice cruise back.

This is different for me as I typically buy projects or those vehicles needing a good project going over.

This was a solid Texas Burb built with a 6.0 LS and 4L80e, Painless wiring, really cold Vintage Air, properly dropped, Dakota Digital gauges, 3:73 rear.

Owner set it up with engine, transmission and differential temp sensors that display on the DD gauges. Tap up tap down cruise control and tilt wheel make for a nice ride. Solid body (pictures of body work included) nice paint and new chrome are way too good for me...but still kinda nice.

It does need a few revisions (exhaust for one) though it is pretty decent as is.

We are pretty excited with this one and plan to take her on HRPT 2015.

Re: Finally found a Burb and it followed me home.

Appreciate the positive words guys. It is way nicer than any I've had before...except for maybe a 69 Corvette. I've wanted a nice 67 to 72 Burb for awhile and kept totalling up what I would spend to start with a nice one then build it like this one. I believe I would have spent more going that route....or at least close...and a lot of work to get there. Yeah, I really enjoy the build process, so we will drive this one and get our build kicks on the 48.

Fixed first broken part today...door handle push button problem...chincy reproduction...

I love it! Did you happen to record your mpg on the way home?

Re: Finally found a Burb and it followed me home.

Thanks guys, now I am more aware of scratches and door dings! Leon,we will have fun cruising and taking our Grandsons to shows. Wanna make memories.

Highwinger, I didn't though the seller claimed 19 mpg on HRPT last year. It turns 2,300 rpm at 70.

Not bad at all. I would have been concerned the 3:73 rear would hurt the mileage.

Sweet Burb! Love that color. Don't worry about scratches. I would rather have a Suburban that is used and has scratches than one that is cherry but never leaves the garage.

Re: Finally found a Burb and it followed me home.

Glad you finally found one Doug!

It looks sweet and I am looking forward to seeing the small changes you do to make it yours. Hopefully I will get to park mine next to it one day.

Oh and I am glad to see its a "four eyes"...

Re: Finally found a Burb and it followed me home.

Thanks Iceburgh and Jason! There are some updates the Burb can use - exhaust, brake upgrade, second row seat change for legroom - we may not get on them for awhile. Saturday we plan to take the Burb to a car show with our Grandsons who are 8 and 3. It will be their first show and should be fun.

Would be cool to meet up at a show somewhere and park by Betty or Iceburghs awesome Suburban.
