 is that really how you feel?

Folks are reporting you for the comments.. so I would suggest the old saying if you haven't got anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. Its fine to not like what others do, but bashing is not allowed thanks!

Sorry you feel that way. I like it and the girls I go out with probably wouldn't think Louie himself came out to my house and did my old truck anyway. It's the fun factor, not the label.

:metal:

EDIT: Oops, just saw Liz comment. I'd like to add - have a great day :D
Nothing to see here folks!

Looks awesome!
For my truck, I was thinking of doing that diamond stitched stuff, with a differant flat material going down in the middle like that, but making it look similar to the line on the top/center of the hood. :)

The left and right seats are on 1.5" blocks and the center mounts were cut and turned to the inside so i could mount them to the hump and make it even with the other two. I'm 5' 10" so this setup would work with just anyone. However the adjust up and down some.

With the upholstery stitching, material, and pattern, I think you did a great job making high back buckets look 'period correct'.

not sure if you ever figured out where this seat or cover came from, but I think I recognize that seat cover, it looks a lot like the original on my 1985 K10 Custom Deluxe. I remember it pretty well, I sat in that seat for 270K miles (bought it new) had the seat rebuilt completely once. The guy who redid it matched the original for me almost dead on. I can't see if that material in the pic has a fine textured finish on the pleated part, mine did. The color and the layout of the pattern looks to be the same as mine. That could be a squarebody seat, right?

I mounted these in my 65, and will be swapping the backs that have the speakers when he gets those seats removed.
I told him I wanted to give him something for all these seats - He said how about all four seats for $50.

I know it may look totally 80's, but I'm fine with that. :D

in regards to mine, the seat is an original/factory style seat...and the material does not have a textured finish

Here's the deluxe/full foam seat for the '65 Dad built using a powdercoated frame and NOS 64-65 cloth.

The original seat was in rough shape so we found this one to recover. I wonder what decade it was recovered in?!

New vinyl, NOS cloth.

Blasted/painted the tracks.

http://i557.photobucket.com/albums/s..._3270793_n.jpg

Laying out the material for trimming.

Burlap and thin carpet so the springs don't eat into the foam.

yeah, I didn't really notice the adj. mechanism, I can see it's not a later seat, but I'm still guessing it's no coincidence that it looks so much like a stock 85. Might be an OEM '85 cover, or an aftermarket "look-alike" or copy? Either that or it's a REMARKABLE coincidence!

that old '85 truck of mine broke in half, after commercially plowing snow for 17 years...been gone now almost 10 years, so I can't look at it, but your seat cover sure looks familiar.
By the way, that's a great looking interior ya got.

Very nice work theastronaut, Do you have the paint code for the interior color of that truck?? It looks like fawn on the floor but look more light gray on the doors and dash???

Thanks, the paint color is '03 Nissan Sunlit Sand, code EVO for the interior. All the paint is the same, it's just the lighting and two different cameras making the paint look like different shades. I used Spies Hecker basecoat reduced 50%, then added 15% hardener. The hardener adds a nice sheen and a fair amount of durabilty without having to use a flattened clear which would make the metalic in the paint look milky.

Procars with a custom console. By far some of the most comfy seats in anything, well worth the big pricetag. Increased leg room, back support, and since I've had 3 bones removed from my back, its strangely one of the few vehicles I can do longer hauls in.

Not sure what it came out of but it is comfortable. The back is a 60/40 split.

MisterC, are those 67-72 seats? Did the seat base line up good? I know the 66 GMC came with buddy buckets, wasn't sure if 67-72 seat base mounts up well. Nice seats!

Anyone know what's good in a late model bench that would fit a 1965 C10 60/40 split, solid, or with a folding arm/ center console. No buckets cause I like my girl to snuggle up to me in the truck lol

They are the 66 GMC buddy buckets. Mounts lined up like they were made for it.
