Re: 60-66 Chevy And GMC 4X4's Gone Wild
Just wanted to post my first message and say I've spent more time in the last few days reading about 60-66 Chevy and GMC trucks than I ever imagined. This is a great site ! I have a real passion for these trucks. I still have the 65 4x4 I bought 22 years ago in Silver City New Mexico from the widow of the original owner. Truck then had 17,000 original miles on it. It hasn't changed much. All I have at the moment is this picture to share of the truck. I've been an active collector ever since of 60-66 trucks.

Many of you have seen my Gold K20 that was posted earlier in this thread ( thank you) Heres some detail items I had pictures of from when I bought the truck, truck even came with its own Chevrolet TOILET PAPER given out by the dealer when truck was purchased new. Truck currently has 22,000 miles but I saw in a previous post someone said it has Air Cond., it does not. Thats also a picture of the original spare tire thats never been on the ground.

Thank you 66Gilbert. Yes I bought it from a guy in California off eBay maybe 10 ? years ago. He was second owner. It was the most well optioned truck I had seen at that time. The original owner traded in a 1960 K20 on this truck in 1966. That's the reason for the 1960 hubcaps on this truck. The question is still in my mind on whether this truck had any hubcaps at all or if he just liked these better ? I see in previous posts that topic has come up. The current hubcaps I had to find NOS and then cut the center out. |

As you probably noticed, I think it was '63 and on that the 4X4's came without hubcaps. |
Also wanted to post these pictures of a 1962 GMC Civil Defense Panel 4x4. I went to a farm Implement auction in Minnesota to get this truck but was outbid every time by the gentlemen in these pictures. Truck was incredibly nice in most respects. He bought it for his son in the Military and it was going to be presented to him when he returned home. 11,000 original miles.
