There are only two of these I would call "raised" the other two are barely a high spot. I am more than pissed. So what can be done now short of building up a weld line and grinding that down until the caps fit tight?

I have the same wheels and my non restored caps are very tight. I had to use a rubber mallet to install them . Is the inner lip on the caps flattened out . It should have a role to it . I've had some caps that it gets flattened and the caps they are loose fitting

Caps are rolled on the edges. I guess now I need to find 4 original 16" wheels.

I have done quite of brazing to build up an area where there is no real structural strength needed, and it is fairly easy to work. Just throwing out an idea, other than hitting the seller of the wheels to take them back and refund them. It should be fairly easy to locate a set of the Ford Accuride wheels, but then comes the cleanup, and paint or powdercoating to bring them into condition. Mine were in fair condition, and I scuffed and painted, but wish now I had went the blast and coat method, and may turn around and go that way later.

I was anticipating popping on those beautiful hubcaps your son restored. Anymore it seems like even the smallest of jobs which we use to never think twice about doing are now a big PIA. Once I found out these wheels were made in China I knew the possibility of a problem existed. It's in EVERYTHING we do. God I miss old America! Sorry, I feel strongly about this crap. Dave

Looks like Summit has the same wheel. I see 4 prominent protrusions. I wonder if it's the same wheel I purchased from Road Ready Wheels. They are much cheaper.

I rebuilt the wheel cylinders, calipers, and master cylinder, rebuilt the starter, and alternator on my 72. I know I could have bought all new china parts, but I knew if I rebuilt I would know what I have when done. I did have trouble with the master cylinder and ended up buying a china part due to a bad piston in my OE master. I am saving my OE master and if I ever find a good piston I will likely rebuild it.

Should these wheels have 4 ventilation slots also? The ones advertised in the links do.

Good eye FS! Is the Summit wheel like the original 16.5" wheel in this regard? The spare is still under the truck. Would it be the same as the other 4? I will have the truck back in the shop this week and I will examine it. Thank you! Dave

Ok so this guy Thomas responded to my wanted ad for a jack/tools & bag. I emailed his buddy who sent me photo's of all the items. I agreed on the price of $150.00 sent the $$$ via Paypal. He acknowledged receipt. A few days went by, I emailed him for tracking, nothing. A few more days went by I again asked for tracking, nothing. It has been almost two weeks now and I think I have been scammed. Does this guy's user name look at all familiar to any of you guy's??

On a positive note I received an email today from Summit saying those wheels are in transit! Beating the backordered date.

Man, I hope you paid with Goods and Services not friends and family because those are scams. We have had a couple scammers get past the spam/scammer filters in use by using proper emails and such that don't get flagged. They never make a post but send a private message saying they know someone else with the part and provide pictures they grabbed off the internet as "proof". If you have any questions, please send a PM to Liz, and she can help you out.

Yeah he specifically wanted it sent F/F. Maybe Paypal can do something?

That's something you'll have to take up with Paypal, but since it was F&F, I don't think they'll do anything. G&S has buyer's protection. With the amount of scammers out there today on Facebook, Instagram, and all the various forums, I would recommend everyone pay only with Paypal G&S just to be on the safe side

Happy to help! Sorry about the scammer though. If you could, please use the report feature (the red and white triangle in the top left of the PM message) on that PM that was sent to you so we can give the scam account a lifetime boot :josh:

Looks like you have been ripped off. It appears the jerk searched this site for the pics.

The bag picture is from one of my posts from 2016. I still have it and have never offered it for sale. It pisses me off too!

The other was from this thread from 2011.

Jim I can't believe I fell for that! And he only had the one post, big red flag! I guess I was blindsided. Oh well, maybe Paypal will reimburse me but I'm not holding my breath! Dave
