And so the rust repair continues. This morning I cut out the rot at the lower corner of my passenger fender. After that, I found that the inner structure had taken a fair amount of rust as well so I went ahead and cut that out as well. I made a new piece for the inner structure and got it welded in.

Between welding on that while waiting for it to cool, I also started working on the patch panel for my passenger B pillar. The thing, like all my other pieces, was not going to just drop right in and fit. So I went ahead and chopped it into three pieces so that I could get it right. Now I just have to weld it all back together and it can be installed.

Wheew that was alot of welding to fill in that gap, but its done now. Done mind the ugly welding, I was fighting it all the way. I also managed to get my fender patch ground down tonight as well. Hopefully tomorrow I can find some time to grind down the b pillar patch and maybe even get it welded in.

I got my B pillar patch finished up. Then I proceeded to test fit it with the rocker panel. It fit quite well. My door gap was also nice. It can still be fine tuned a little bit when I install the cab corner. Not sure if I want to do the cab corner or rocker panel next? Is there a benefit to doing one before the other?

Wow you would think that I would just realize by now that every piece I have for rust repair is terrible. I had a few minutes tonight to get an idea of how my cab corner is going to fit. It just looks terrible. :lol: I'm going to have to section it at least twice to get the fit right. Looks like I got my work cut out for me. These pictures are after I put the thing in a choke hold and folded it in quite a bit. Which created quite the kink on the lower edge of the corner.

Yeah man, I had to slice n dice mine too. The replacements aren't perfect but they are close enough. Be glad your not rebuilding them from scratch!

Well thats a relief. I have managed to get my rocker fitting quite well without having to slice and dice it. Bottom door gap is nice and even now. The cab corner on the other hand, now that I had to slice and dice. Still alot of work to do on the cab corner but I'm feeling good about it now.:metal:

Hey guys. Im looking for a little bit of input on something here. Ive managed to get my cab corner mocked up to an extent but im not sure that it is correct in the curve if that makes any sense. I think that it may dive inward of the body lines to soon. What are your guys thoughts on this?

Why don't you go look at my cab and take a cardboard template of the curve. That would help you. A body moulding could help too.

I ended up making one from my old cab and I took off the piece of moulding. My suspicions were confirmed and I had to make some relief cuts to make the adjustment. I now have it all tacked back together and fitting pretty nice.

Can you post some pics of the rocker panel with the door open? You are exactly a few steps ahead of me and I am really wondering how the @$#@ this is gonna go together!

Also how does the outer rocker top edge compare to the inner rocker height wise? Ill PM you some pics as not to hi-jack your thread (hah). Thanks man you are doing awesome work.

I have been working at getting the cab corner welded back together which is alot of fun.:lol: Every tack I make wants to shrink it back down so I need to put it farther out than where it should sit so that once it shrinks, it is in the correct spot. It is turning out quite nice but is very slow going. You can see just how far off it is towards the bottom of the cab corner. Good thing I noticed this or it would have been far too much filler to correct it in body work stages.

I'd say the cab corner is about 90% to the correct shape now. With a little bit of luck, I might just be able to get it all finish fit and installed this weekend.
