Looks real good. I like the lines and insulation. I will probably bend my own lines. My stock ones are ok, but I "might as well"..

Do it! For the price it is worth it to have new lines. Plus having that feeling of accomplishment......only when it does come out right!

I hear ya! Got my side mouldings in last night, gotta get a pic to prove it of course. Going to work on it after noon today, my paint and body guy is there now fixing a couple of things on the paint and getting my breather cover and valve covers ready for paint too. Feels good to be making progress when I am not even there!!! Will be starting to install my fuel neck today also.

Well, the great Southern weather is not cooperating so 2 weekends without much progress. I will keep the posts and pics coming as the project progresses. Thanks for looking!:smoke:

how much did you move it up to center it and how? Did you use two bolts instead of all three? I have n sheet metal on my frame, had to go to frame shop so now would be the best time to deal with it. thanks

I decided against moving the Xmember forward, it is more simple to shim the rear of the top a-arm and gain about 1 inch instead of going through all of the work and time of moving the Xmember forward to gain 1.25 inches. Also, tubular a-arms correct the geometry some too.

Alrighty then......back to the pics. Weekend weather was not too bad so I was able to get a couple of things done. I had to create a little more room for the gas tank flange so I pulled out the fuel cell and mounted it on the bottom side of the top of the crossmembers, didn't take a pic....but it was done!!! I took the filler neck of off the tank and went to a muffler shop and had them weld in a pipe to make a flange out of the filler cap. Worked out good. I also had them put a 45 degree bend in the end of a 32 inch peice of pipe to make a fuel filler hose. The 45 degree bend is for clearance of the sending unit. The install of this has not happened yet but the parts are ready and I can cut the crossmember under the bed next weekend to install the pipe and hoses.
All of the wiring for my bags looked like a birdsnest so my friend Ronnie and I pulled it out and started fresh from the valves and rewired everthing all the way into the cab for final install.
Attachment 539038
I put wireloom around all the wires to clean it up and protect them.
Attachment 539039
Since we were already doing the wiring I decided to hook up the bag gauges.
Attachment 539040
My paint and body guy came by on Friday and prepped the rockers for painting again. He closed the doors just a hair too much after he shot the paint the first time and it stuck a little bit. He should have that fixed and my breather cover painted next weekend.

Looking good...maybe you could have him touch up the cab corner while he's mixing up paint anyways.....

Yeah, the pic doesn't show it but he sanded down the cab corner on the back too. I hated to see all that paint missing but I know it will look better when he's done.

Heath?!?!!? hahhaha nope it's just me.....David!! We can't all be as cool as Heath or you for that matter! I am using the Slam Specialties bags on standard cups, 2600's all the way around with (8) Blitzluft valves and 1/2 inch lines. I appreciate the compliments, coming from you that means alot!! :metal:

Here's the update I have been wanting to post, fuel cell filler hose install. The placement has been though out and it looks like it will be a simple install, then again nothing is simple when you actually do it. For you long bed guys I got a measurement for the Summit Fuel Cell and you won't have to buy a flange for the cell. Here ya go.
I pulled the bung out of the fuel cell and had a local muffler shop weld in a 2.25 pipe inside it.
Attachment 539904
The measurement from the back of the bed floor to the center of the fuel cell filler neck was 26.25 and in the center of the bed. The x-member will have to be cut about 7 inches to allow for the 45 degree bend in the pipe to clear the sending unit. There is approximately 7.5 inches between the x-members under the bed so that worked out perfectly to run the pipe to the side of the bed.
Attachment 539905
The pipe was left a little long on purpose, 32 inches from end to end. I have options on how to run it through the bed floor to the filler neck now, I can either have the pipe bent at a 90 straight up or use a peice of 90 degree fuel hose from the filler neck to the pipe. And yes this will all be under the bed.
Attachment 539906
Summit, Jeg's, Speedway, Competition Sales all have fuel filler necks that will work for my application. I will be using a 45 degree neck so that it makes it easier to fill. Since there are already 2 bends in the filler hose and 1 bend in the pipe, my only concern is fuel kickback so I am choosing not to make another 90 in it to get it closer to the rear of the bed (unless someone tells me otherwise). The 45 bend in the filler neck should be sufficient to get it close to the rear.
Attachment 539908
The big brown truck came by bearing gifts. I was really happy with the quality of these mouldings, plus they were made by MAR-K in OK City, USA. They are on sale right now, and that made them cheaper than the competition can sale and ship their imported, foreign made mouldings!! And check out the packaging!

The new moldings look awesome! I'm sure they will look even better on the truck. I am assuming your gonna do a spray on bedliner? Or are you waiting to paint the bed floor till after you install the gas filler?
