Re: The rarity of the small window

I like them both. The 67 SBW would be the earlier build trucks if I had to guess. I have one im working on now. From what I've read the small window and the width of the pillars beside the window just made a blind spot in that area. In the later build trucks GM offered the larger back window as an option 'Panoramic rear glass' then as others have mentioned it became standard from 68 on up.

But I wouldn't say they look 'weird. Just not as common .. and different is good. Just an easy way to spot a 67 cab really. No different than the marker light differences.

I'm sure the question has been well resolved through this thread, but the small back window is not a rare thing for '67s. It's a rare thing for the 67-72 body style because, although there were many thousands of them made, they were only made in '67. Just the same as all the GM pickups made beginning with the '47 2nd Design, the small window cab was standard and more back window was an option. 47 2nd-55 1st had the corner windows optional, then came full back glass option. '68 was the first year the full back glass became standard on all pickups.

Here's my 68 C10.

I read that they didn't offer them in 68 but both the frame and cab VIN #'s match and say it's a 68. The VIN number indicates a late 67 build date so not sure what to make of it

Could be they were using up old inventory. Would be interesting to see a picture of your dash/ignition switch. Long shot by 50 plus years of probably various owners but do you know if the front fenders ever had the side reflectors before repaint.

Here's a pic of the interior and you can see the ignition switch. Not sure about the front fender side reflectors but I can feel inside them and see there is a recessed area inward that could have had the reflector at one time and they were shaved or filled in to eliminate the reflectors.
The truck is a bit of a Frankentruck as you can see with the 90's box and the hood and grill are from a 69 or later because the bowtie is on the hood and letters in the grill

The ignition bezel looks 67, the instrument cluster bezel looks 69 or later since it only has 1 knob on the left which I'm guessing is your headlights. If you have a 69 hood and grill your fenders have also been changed out to 69 or later, so the side markers have been eliminated.

My 67 has the ‘Panoramic’ rear glass option.

Yep, headlight switch on the top left and instrument cluster I'm pretty sure has been changed out too as it has the tach in the middle.

So, this thing is really a mish mash of parts from 1967 to maybe 1970 it looks like but titled as a 1968.

Either way, I still like it.

They are all good and desirable a lot of them are Heinz 57's. My 70 Flatbed has a 67 Instrument Cluster in it.
