This is the only picture of my "mini camper" rig I had when I lived in the Flagstaff area (Mountainaire). Picture was taken in '80 or '81 in Page, grabbing some goods at the store before camping/exploring in Moab.

I hope it happens soon, microwave dinners suck. Good luck there. Now back to the campers

The pic in the top shows a camper in a step side bed. I've never seen one of those before. I'd say that those campers had to be on the rare side of production.

**edit** it didn't copy the picture. I was referring to post #2. Top picture.

Any standard camper (floor about 48" wide) should work in a step side with the proper box length. Problem is, most campers have doors inside to access all that valuable storage space remaining in the bed.

I KNOW there are interior shots of that camper available. Would you mind posting them for Jocko? It appears those are the pictures he's really looking for.

That's a great looking combo!

My three "current" favorites are the Alaskan and Four Wheel pop ups and the Travel Queen hard side.
Here is a very nice slighly later 10' Travel Queen in all its period round top glory.

Check out this 1967 Avion recently sold on eBay. It's previous owner is also selling a 1970 GMC 3/4 ton 4 x 4 CST that was posted a few days ago. There's a picture of the truck in this listing also.

Does anyone have the patience to transfer the listing photos to this thread for future reference? I'd try, but my right hand is in a cast for a couple months.

THAT THING IS HUGE! But at least it's aerodynamic. I'd be paying much closer attention to the low clearance signs... Thanks for sharing, that thing is super.

That pic was from the sales brochure that year (not sure if it was from the truck brochure or recreational vehicle brochure, but a brochure nonetheless). Yes, what others said, should fit either since the lower box normally just slides in between the inside edge of the wheel wells (or stepside inner bedside).

Oh man. Oh man. I LOVE that thing. Have seen several El Dorados - and have seen a few in the original Chevy camping sales brochures also. Very cool - thanks for all the interior pics.

Thanks for the inner-Alaskans, have never actually seen one on the inside. Now I know why you like em so much - pretty nice inside and a unique look outside.

THANKS for all the interior shots. Believe it or not, if I ever want to take the spousal unit camping, it's gotta have a crapper and a shower. Nothing I can do about it, it's just a fact of life... Thanks again - these are some great pics from everyone. :)

I keep finding these cans, and a few others, in my planter. Please cease and desist! :)

BTW, my camper shell is as old school as it gets. It was installed when the truck was new, and has been on there since...1970. I'm going to have to rebuild it myself. When I retire at the end of this month, I will have time. I plan to make it a cab over, with a flap in the front that lowers at speed to keep rain out. I have yet to fix the drip rail around the roof. The only thing that saves me is that global warming has kept the rain out of California, thus keeping the corrosion under control while I did not own it.

This is my 1971 11' camper. It was my first Chevy truck and the camper came with it. 49,000 miles. Still have the camper but the truck rusted away around 115,000 miles. It sat in the green 69 longhorn for a summer but was never on the road then anymore. I can hook you up with the owner of the camper if someone is interested.
