got my seats in and my gas tank. Doing the shock mounts tomorrow. I got to take drive it down the road for the fist time in almost 12 years. I was just as excited as the fist time I drove it at 15.

Looks damn good from my house!!:metal:

Re: my 53 five window
Well the processes has slowed down due to body work. Wow body work sucks.

Re: my 53 five window
Truck looks great! Do you have any photos of the front suspension and steering components? Power steering? I'm curious how you set it up using the straight front axle. I have a 48 thriftmaster that I would like to do the same thing to.

Put it all to one color primer so I can start the body work. Not a fan of the yellow.

Re: my 53 five window
Nice truck. I like the color more than the wheels.

Re: my 53 five window
Looks great! What kind of steering set up do you have?

Re: my 53 five window
front end is all stock with the exception of the mono leaf springs and some homemade shock brackets. She's a little squirley but not to bad. The rear end is out of a 70 blazer with limited slip 3.73 gears, motor is 350 bored .30, port and polished heads with oversized valves, 700r4 trans with corvette servos, shift kit and lock in converter. The drive train seems to be pretty solid been drivin it around a bit and runs like a champ. Now its time to do all the body work and interior, all the stuff i dont want to do. No rush though as long as it runs good i can drive it ugly makes no difference to me. There is still alot of work to do but were makin progress

Re: my 53 five window
How did you get the steering shaft to clear the the exhaust manifold? From some of your pictures it looks like you moved the steering column over, but I'm not sure
|
Re: my 53 five window
we built a box off the fram about 4" thick and moved it over. Not to bad and shifts the stering wheel toward the door a little but not real noticable.
