Re: Lifted Truck Pics
Its funny how small those tires make the wheels look. Im so used to 17"-20" That most newer trucks run now. :metal:
|
Re: Lifted Truck Pics
yeah those were 16.5 s too. i lifted it about 4 more inches after this pics. i just had got the wheels on in this pic.

Re: Lifted Truck Pics
only make 49 iroks in 16.5, 17, 20s. which later i swapped to rockwells and needed 20s so i could use 4 wheel disc breaks on them. which was high so i sold everything and lowered it back down on 44 boggers and sold it.

Re: Lifted Truck Pics
Thanks guys. Its an 86 with 700r4, np208 10 bolts front and rear with lockers at both ends and superior axles in both. The engine is a GM 290hp crate engine with a set of edelbrock SMOG legal header and the rest of the parts on the engine are factory. Runs better than most newer trucks and with the non-computer controlled quadrajet i can practically run the thing upside down. The best part is the truck is 100% rust free and no dents.

Re: Lifted Truck Pics
I really like it. Can't you tell everyone what lift and tire size you have?
|
Re: Lifted Truck Pics
The lift is a craigslist four inch pro-comp lift with ORD HD front shackles, a ORD shackle flip kit in the rear, ORD frame brace, with some gabriel nitrogen charged shocks. All the rod ends, steering links and steering stabilizer were replaced and it rides fairly well. Coming soon will be the tuff country front springs or alcans all around.

When I got my K/20 Highlander it was played out mechanically. It needed balljoints extremely bad, calipers were sticking,no clutch, cracked and 1/2 missing springs...you name it. The body was great and in original paint and the 400 SBC ran strong, too. I did ball joints, drag link ends, tie rod ends, rotors, drums, bearings throughout both axles,disassembled/cleaned/inspected the No-Spin,installed a Tru-Trac in front, new shackles, springs, shocks, tires, driveshaft and axle u-joints,brake pads cylinders, calipers, hardware, hoses, lines, master cylinder, booster, centerforce dual friction clutch, and exhaust. From the minute I pulled it out of the shop it was a one finger pleasure to drive. I loved the old '70s veteran 4wd look, yet it drove like a new truck. I intentionally went with el cheepo white spokes to emphasis the survivor look and to show all those who hate them that they can look good. They were so common back then,I couldn't see installing flashy wheels with tarnished and dinged trim and patina'd paint,4WPH was offering buy 3 get one free on the Xterrains, and I have 16.5 x 9.75 aluminum slots & Kelsey Hayes steelies I planned to mount Groung Hawgs and SSRs on for alternate sets. It sold with what's on it and the other sets will go on my '72 GMC once I lift that.

it was his mud dragger way back when with a fiberglass flip top body/box till the body decided to flip when the truck was on the trailer being hauled back from the mud drags one day, then he went nuts from there! mid 80s steel cab/box on it now with hydraulic dump under the box. its got 2 frames stacked on top of each other and welded together,it used to have about 6" more of lift till he decided to lower it down and make it streetable.i believe the tires are 48s,dana 44 with limited slip in front 14 bolt with locker in the rear. yeah the axles/springs and every thing else on it are plated. aluminum headed/roller cammed 468 with single dominator on top backed by a turbo 400 |
