Love the color - that's what mine was originally, and I wish I had the balls to paint it back that color! Great looking truck!

Love this color combo with the wheels matching the roof. Nicely done.

Hey Boog; Thanks for the compliments.
Front drop, 2.5 inch spindles
Rear drop, 3 inch drop springs
I can't go much, if any lower because my exhaust cut outs are only 3 inches from the ground.
Front tires 255 60R 15
Rear tires 275 60R 15 -wanted 295 but they don't fit inside the fenders.
Sure cuts a mean corner with those fatties on it.

Beautiful trucks guys. Mine looked real good at night and from a distance. The motor went out and I decided to give it some fresh paint while she was down. As usual it's taking longer than I hoped, just seems like time is hard to come by these days but I'm getting there. The gray is sharp but so is the red's, blues, heck all of them. I don't know if I can make up my mind.

One more shot.

Never had bed on after painted red. Original light green. Trying to choose a color now myself. Some responses from family and friends:

Maroon Poly

like the light blues. Reddish maroon would nice too. I don't care for dark colors, yellows, or greens.

black with red pin stripping is the classiest with show quality appeal, but I really like the maroon poly for its sexiness. The drawback would be that both these colors need perfect bodywork underneath to make it work. Good luck and the color you choose will end up looking badass anyhow,

f you're not doing a two-tone and you're not inclined to go with a cool shade like blue or slate and you're leaning towards a "warm" color, I might consider orange. only because it's not all red and not solid yellow.
Love you little brother, keep up the good work,

Slider, It looks like there is a gasket or something behind your rear fender. Is that what it is. I have not taken the fenders off the bed yet and had not planned to. I did not think they had a gasket back there. OH, and sharp truck also.

It's like a gasket. It's called fender welt. I have seen trucks with and without it. I don't know if it was factory or not. Maybe someone will chime in. I dig your truck as well. Love the color!

My late pop's 1969 C10 stepside, I'm going to be finishing it in his absence...the color originated from a calendar he had in his shop on what I think was a custom 40's coupe (see upper left on photo). I'm not sure of the actual color mix but I'm pretty sure it's a PPG Dreamcicle.

The '69 was originally olive green and when my Dad bought it, it was a metallic maroon. I've always liked the olive green, especially when two-tone with white.

Personally, if I were to start from scratch, I'd do a variation of white, tan or gray, even silver possibly. You can't go wrong with the clean basic lighter tones.

Thanks Boog. That's actually my dad's shop, he was into the 50's nostalgia and old signs and did a lot of RatFink type art too! I'm going to make sure some of them make a new home in our garage. I appreciate the welcome!

Very nice trucks guy's. I just finished buttoning up my new engine this morning and now it's back onto the body work and a fresh coat of paint at some point. I'm really liking the gray again I believe.

Here's mine. Unlike most of you, I bought it looking like this. A different kind of 2 tone....
Been working on some details but she's a good runner!

Might have to get me some of that. It's not very expensive and probably keeps moisture out somewhat.

I think my '71 says DK. BLUE on the spid, never looked very DARK BLUE to me. Has 1 cheap repaint and the color is pretty close to original. It matches the door jambs, insides of the doors & dash which weren't repainted.
