getting close to finishing up this side. I have a few holes to fill, that I was having trouble getting a good weld without blow out. I bought some more wire and went with a smaller size .025 down from the .030 I had on hand. Which on some test welds with the other side, is laying down smoother.
I put down some tape and paint to clean up the lines to make them straight. deciding still if id like to keep the welds or hide them. we will see :)

Nice work, I like how you did your cuts.
You will have a much easier time with the thinner wire.

I did some more welding last night and you're right, its laying down a lot better :)
the cut lines I went off from was the Brothers truck video with David Welch. He walked through it in great detail

update pics, getting closer to finishing up the bed. Then I will be able to get the truck back in the shop and start on the frame!

Great work, it will be like having a whole new truck when you are done.

I finished up the box. The welds aren't perfect but I'm liking it. Now I'm waiting on some clear weather to swap out for the truck that's on the side of the house. Garage is too small for both. I just received my conversion kit from long shot fab, so I'm itching to get cutting :)
I've always kicked myself that I did not save my old tailgate for the embossed letters to graft into the one I have now. But for now some weathered painted letters will do  under that rectangle piece of paper is my license plate

Haven't been updating the progress lately, sorry for that. here are some pics of the Long Shot fab kit installed and frame cut. Also the rear cab mount moved back. Thought I had pics of the frame bolted back together, but I guess I never did

Here are some shots of the truck. Loving the look of the shortness ;) also look at the extra room ive got in the shop!

All I have to do now is fix the gas line, brake line, and rerun the air lines and wiring with the bed back on, so I can move it over to my friend that will weld it up right! getting close!
