Sway bar I robbed from a 3/4 ton in a boneyard. not too bad on price I'd get the thicker one if i were to do it over. I grabbed the lowered brackets from classic truck outta orange county here in Cali (you can get them from LMC too I believe). and then I got neoprene brackets and bushings from Energy suspension (which I also got for my cab mounts) You can't believe the difference a sway bar can do I wasn't a believer till I took that first turn and it took the grunt I love it I feel like a racetruck hahaha

That kind of machine will come in handy for your truck build. Is your boss cool with you doing personal stuff.

Yeah I would say that you have the wrong wheels on the truck. You might want to consider 67cheby's Slosh Tubz to help remedy that problem. They have a tighter inner fender than the stock inners so you can have a lower ride height.
They are a really cool product.

I'm not so skilled yet at running my own stuff but once I get a bit more knowledge under my belt and winter comes around I'm sure I'll find some spare time to do a couple things for myself and others excellent man to work for. May not be some guys cup of tea us "Hardly" boys with oversized rims but damnit we know how to make those showbikes shine. (Cutting our teeth on sport bike wheels now as well as always doing car wheels) glad to be working for them down there

alright now boys I just can't contain myself on this right now but we laid down our first round of white sealer since bodywork is 95% complete (just needs blocking now) and my lord it looks damn good!! have a look

Now do I wanna go white for now or semi/flat black like the front... decisions decisions

Here it is just wet alone the reflection shows the amount of time my dad put into the bedsides to see how straight they are hardly any ripple at all.

I have always liked two toned trucks, but the important thing is that you like it and the rest of the opinions don't matter. I knew when I painted my logo on my truck some would like it and some wouldn't, but it was my truck and not theirs. Go with what you like and the rest be damned.:metal:

Re: 1972 Chevy p/u NewType Build

I agree with Mike do it with what makes you happy my thoughts don't matter and I can't see it from my house. It does look so nice so far, and I think resale red is hard to beat.

Re: 1972 Chevy p/u NewType Build

Thanks for the thoughts guys I know alot of people around here always say oh do something different everyone does that color. Well IMO it's the look I love for these trucks (powder blue and white a very close second which mean I'm in love with frankenstein on here big shoutout to the awesome work of Drewskiren) but yeah it's coming along ever so slowly and fast if that's possible? but yeah got out there again today had the red sprayed when I got there by my dad lil issue with the dash but for now it's staying the way it is no time to refinish and this will be a scrap cab afterwards anyway (driver door jam for hinges twisted, not a/c or deluxe cab) but here's some pics to keep the interest up haha night

Man that white bed looks AWESOME! I am painting Attempt/Mistake #2 Range Rover white this go around. And every time I see a white one I like it better! Red looks great too though. And I think that 2 tone would look really cool. Red has to be really straight (bodywork wise) but if the bed is any indication of it you will have a good foundation for it.

Thanks you guys and yeah gonna have a TON of progress tomorrow and all the way to monday with memorial weekend here. Thankfully I so needed this extra day this truck needs to be repainted and road worthy in a week essentially. tmrw the front clip is coming off I'm junking the damaged left fender and inner and replacing and realigning the new metal hopefully it can be all prepped by tmrw night so big ambitions for little time BRING IT ON! hahaha

Re: 1972 Chevy p/u NewType Build

Well not a ton of progress I did tear apart the front clip today though not huge of a deal but I did rid myself of the junk inner and outer fender (holding onto the outer for another piece of the wall of shame) and we ran into a huge speedbump being the catalyst (ironic right?) that was used in the sealer was garbage and left the white sealer still wet from a day before sooo we tried sanding off the white didn't work, tried DA'ing it off didnt work even scraping it off and still nothing so out we busted the laquer thinner and goly gee did that stuff rip that sealer off and thankfully not the eurocoat primer underneath so thankfully we dont have to chemically strip the fender to raw and he was able to spray two coats of primer over it again to get ready for white (with the correct hardener) Hopin we can prep all of the body pieces tmrw for a full white sealer coat on monday then just to find the original factory striping split for the two-tone (much appreciated if anyone can give us the correct height and placement of the split under the top molding) oh here's some pictures it sure feels like last year with the look of it haha
