Re: Project ''Second Time Around''
Today I finished up the passenger side. Here are the pic from this weekend.

Re: Project ''Second Time Around''
Air line.
http://warp.scl.utah.edu/19723dr/Flame-60.jpg Mounted to the frame. http://warp.scl.utah.edu/19723dr/Flame-61.jpg Lower bracket. There is a bottom flat plate that is welded to the A arm. I originally had to modify this bracket to fit down inside the A-arm. Most of the kits now come with a lower cup. http://warp.scl.utah.edu/19723dr/Flame-62.jpg |
Re: Project ''Second Time Around''
After running the air lines down the frame to the rear I put my 22" wheels on because they are the largest wheels that I have so I can get a good idea of where to place the inner fenders when I make them. Then, I pulled the jack stands and let it down to take some pictures.
http://warp.scl.utah.edu/19723dr/Flame-64.jpg Cut the inner fender out so the tire would tuck. http://warp.scl.utah.edu/19723dr/Flame-53.jpg http://warp.scl.utah.edu/19723dr/Flame-54.jpg |
Re: Project ''Second Time Around''
With the fender and bumper on. Test fit.

Re: Project ''Second Time Around''
Lookin Good !
I've got another question.... Hope you don't mind my questions ? I may bag mine if I ever hit the lottery. :waah: Since cutting out the fender I assume the wells will need modifying as well, What are your plans for re-locating the ABS and ECU ? I had to modify my ECU mounting to clear the hood hinge assembly I installed and to me there's little room. Thanks |

For the inner fender, I'm going to take a trailer fender and weld it to the inside of the fender for my wheel well. Right now all I need to move is the wiring harness where it goes into the firewall so that I can steer when driving low. The 95 and up are different. I know on the new models the ABS and ECU are a little more tricky to work around. I've seen guys make brackets on the new inner fender for those, but since mine's the older model, my ECU is in the dash and my ABS is out of the way. Here's a picture where the tire sits now, not a very good angle. There is not as much junk under the hood of the older models, so I' lucky in that aspect. http://warp.scl.utah.edu/19723dr/Flame-68.jpg |

Re: Project ''Second Time Around''
Today I worked on the wiring harness. Since my truck has a clutch, there is no way to move my harness sideways, over and up, unless I want to move the clutch master cylinder - which isn't going to happen--so I did manage to notch the fire wall enough where I was able to recess the entire thing in about 3/4 of an inch which will give me enough room to get the wheel well in there and room to turn.

Re: Project ''Second Time Around''
For the last two weeks I had way to much time off (No work) and have kept busy at home getting all the things I been putting off around the house. I did find some time for the truck removing the helper bags, spare tire brackets, and cleaning up the rear frame. This truck is going to be on the back burner for awhile, lack of funds. But if you know me I'll find time for it soon.:chevy:

Re: Project ''Second Time Around''
This weekend was really good. Saturday morning me and my brother went to Pick-n-Pull and picked up some cams for his MR2. On the way home we stopped and picked up some trailer fenders and a new chrome 95-98 grill. The rest of Sat and Sun I spent working the inner fenders.

http://warp.scl.utah.edu/19723dr/Flame-82.jpg http://warp.scl.utah.edu/19723dr/Flame-78.jpg That's as far as I got this weekend. Earlier this week I visited my friend Chappy at Sinister Fab Works, a local custom truck builder. He talked me into making the 2-Link from scratch. He's going to line me up with all the rear suspension parts. :metal: |
