Finally got the k10 into the garage for the auto to manual transmission swap! Today I got the column out and the old pedal assembly out. Tomorrow morning I'll drill the hole for the linkage and get the new pedal assembly in and the column back in.

How are you setting up the clutch / linkage?

I'm just using an original manual clutch pedal/linkage setup.

Got the pedals in and column back in.

Hey y5,was catching up on your thread. I had commented awhile ago on the K5 ad that you posted. You had said that you weren't really stoked on the K5s (or something to that effect) and then I said, who wouldn't want a Blazer like in the ad. Answer: you! Ha. Just caught that on my re read and wanted to say that my comment wasnt a challenge to your comment. Just me gettin caught up in the ad.

The truck looks great with the new wheels and tires!

That's some slick thinking right there.

Thanks! I thought it was clever.

its going to be a blast to drive with the 4 speed. And I dont know about you but I love the mechanical clutch's. My 88 Suburban has everything from a late 70's truck so its mechanical and it has a much nicer pedal feel than my boss's 85 k30 dumptruck or his stepdads 85 k20, both with Hydrolic clutch's.

Best part about my 4 speed '77 was my wife never wanted to borrow it! Just kidding. Should be a blast to cruise. Something is just right about an old truck with a stick.

I can't wait! Hopefully get it wrapped up here in the next couple weeks!

Always a pain not having help in the garage but it does make you feel like mcguyver when you get clever out there :haha:

Had to get creative a good number of times over the years! I did get the flywheel and clutch bolted on.

I decided now would be a good time to replace the clutch fork and pivot ball...

And made myself up a neato little clutch linkage bracket.

And my solution to the problematic heat riser exhaust valve. I knocked out the shaft and drilled and tapped the hole for a bolt.

Looks good! The bracket you made, is that hard to find? Just curious, I have most all the parts to do the same swap but have never swapped an auto for a manual trans.

Re: 1975 Chevy K10 Scottsdale Rebuild.

I was having a little bit of a tough time finding one. I'm sure I could have but in the end I just decided that it would be easier to make one out of some angle iron I had.

Nice work on the fab. You should be grinding 1-2 shifts faster than you can say go!
