Re: Show us you're seats

just searched his build 91 chevy truck

"I went to Pick A Part today and got a seat from a 91 Chevy truck, and a gas tank from a 77 Blazer. What a ***** it was getting the gas tank out. Everything was rusted, and no air tools. It took me 3 hours to get just the tank out. The seat fits with out any modification. It sits flat on the floor, and looks just about the right height. A lot of work but worth the $50.00 for the seat & $80.00 for the rest. Another score!! "

:haha: That's what I did from Pick A Part. Got the seat from a 91, and the gas tank from a 77 Blazer also. It took about the same time as it did you. What a PITA that was. When I got it out I noticed that it had a big hole in it. They do that to drain the gas out of it. It was still worth it. I just welded up the hole and it came with a sender for about the same money as you paid.

I believe these are from 2004 silverado. had to modify the center seciton brackets, and drill new holes for the driver and passanger seat. other than that, fit pretty good.

Beautiful seat, love the tuck and roll pattern. Nice execution, very tight and neat.

Stock bench seat in my 63 upholstered in black vinyl w/ black & grey tweed-pattern. I have a black & grey Mexican blanket hanging in the center cuz I like it. Looking for sum early 60s bucket seats out of a Impala, Malibu, Chevelle, or Corvair. I wanna switch it out, but still keep that old school 60s theme.

Great info mark. I've seen some of the threads you posted but others were new to me. I'm wondering if you have a similar cache of steering wheel threads. I've searched the obvious key words, but I'm hoping you have something I didn't see.

What type are you interested in - vintage hot rod, aftermarket billet, stock, stock upgrade, etc?

Ha. Mostly the after market billet variety. What's your take on wheel size? I'm of the opinion that anything smaller than 15" looks too small for these trucks. My original is around 17", I think. The stock wheel size is nice when you have manual steering but I'm planning a power rack hooked to a drop-member(hopefully), so the wheel can be what ever size I want. I'm also having trouble finding manufacturers that make wheels for a 66. Any leads?
