Made my mind up on my Ole' 62.
This is what my Breather and Valve covers will be.
I'll get my own gaskets. Forget that cork crap!

Hey 1Bad62Pro/Street watch out for those valve covers. I have a pair and they are a pain to find good gaskets for without doing some trimming or grinding.

Thanks for the pic post #59, I have a 64 with the 230. Any idea what color it should be? From what I have researched I think it was blue like yours, but the valve cover is painted red.

I don't know. Blue with a red valve cover doesn't sound right to me. I kind of thought these trucks had blue engines, and the cars had orange. Maybe you were looking at something with a car valve cover on it?

My '63 always had blue with a blue valve cover.

Of course, I could be wrong in your case. I'm sure someone will correct me. I just think it's supposed to all be blue.

As you can see i was going to get the same valve cover you have till I ran into this deal at Jegs. Well the gaskets that came with the JEGS/ARP/Edelbrock Elite Series Dress-Up Kit was the JEGS Steel Core Valve Cover Gaskets which are very good.
These are the type of gaskets you want. Ideal for engines with high crankcase pressure due to power adder(s) or suction from a vacuum pump, these valve cover gaskets resist the pushing out or drawing in common to other gaskets. They have a neoprene shell vulcanized over a premium steel core for a 3/16" gasket that is strong and reusable.:c2:
