My Jesse James chopper bike while being fitted for the motor and tank.

I found the bike on craigslist as a pretty hard used 45.00 item. I picked up the sprung seat off Ebay and then picked up the Boy Go Fast motor kit that I am finally getting all together.

I welded in an extra bar for the motor and did some finish work on the frame and spray canned it somewhat shiny black.

The intent is to load it up in the back of the 48 and take it to Bonneville or other places that it can save me a ton of walking.

Here are a couple of pics of the fenders that I am going to put on the bike. The fenders will be powder coated gloss black and the spikes will remain chrome.

I was a connection for rebuilding and restoring Schwinns for years in San Diego. My Harleys even had Schwinn Badging and stickers on them. Now the wife and I just enjoy a good cruise in Pacific Beach. Me on my custom Nirve Knuckler and she on her Dyna.
Also my 24" Redline

Re: "Hot Rod" Bicycles

I know its not a beach cruiser. But since it's the fastest bike I have ever had, I think its a hot rod. This started out as a Fuji espree road bike. after shortening the rear end, adding horizontal drop outs, straightening and shortening the forks brazing in the holes where the brakes mounted, and removing all the braze-ons for the cable guides. I added a fixed gear hub, njs stamped track drops and an early 80's sella italia flight saddle, I ended up with a sweet, vintage lugged looking fixed gear track bike. which I used to ride to work everyday. (no brakes and a fixed hub makes for some really responsive and fun riding)

The first picture is of my 1968 Schwinn Sting Ray. My dad got it for me when I was in third grade and I rode it a little bit back then but it mostly sat until 04 when I was in 9th grade. Thats when I put the apehangers on it and really started riding. I had a blast on that bike and went through a number of tubes and broke many other parts. The second pic is of my 1969 Schwinn Typhoon I upgraded to about two years ago in the state on bought it in, and the last pic is fairly recent. I wanted a bike just like mine, but bigger so it would fit me better. I ended up taking the handlebars and sissy bar off the Sting Ray for this one, but I will put it back together at some point. I haven't been riding as much, but one thing I miss is the two speed up from my Sting Ray. I recently took off the front fender because it kept coming loose, and I plan on getting a two speed hub and maybe a shorty rear fender before spring time.
