Here are two versions - One just what you asked for, and the other with black under the stripe as well.

Wow! Thanks @Unclebrad -- both of your versions look great ! Truck's a factory 396 truck (or 400 or 402 or whatever GM was calling them on any particular day ) so i normally wouldnt consider messing with it too much -- but the old "restoration" and paint are looking tired up close and i thought it would be fun to change it up a little Time to decide on which version - i actually like your 2nd version with the whole lower half done in black and had never considered that previously |
1963 SS too much yellow

Bought this 63 step side last year. Love the truck but it was all yellow, bumper included! It had no mirrors or trim. I like the 67 corvette color but there was too much. So I added a chrome bumper, rear view mirrors, B pillar trim to break up the yellow.
So I am thinking about painting the roof white? Is there anyone that has photoshop that could take a picture and change the roof to white so I could get an idea of how it would look? I tried with "paint" with no luck. Just not sure what the white would look like without any other white on the truck? Thanks in advance |

Thank You so much!! Didn't think about the roof only. Which do you like best?
Thanks again. Ted |

Could I be so bold as to ask for one more addition. Too me the roof only looks the best. Could you please make the yellow grill white as well. Thinking this might tie it all together? Thanks again, this has been very helpful. Ted |
Re: 1963 SS too much yellow
I kinda like the version with more white, but it is your truck and you should definitely do what you like.

I apologize for asking for this again but I found an old pic of the actual truck ill be painting white on. Could anyone remove the marker lights in the roof andmake the roof area and under the moulding white? I really wanted to see how the red interior color looks with the white and black exterior. Thanks in advance.

I have 1 more request if someone could help me out. Would I be able to see what a white roof would look like on this truck. Thanks in advance.

Could anyone remove the cross bars on the GMC grille and put a narrowed Chevy grille insert in there? I have an idea :)

Unclebrad was kind enough to photo shop my Truck with a white top a few months back.
I have since changed to white wheels that I like very much. Could you please change just the roof and the front grill leaving the chrome headlight rings and center. I am thinking it would go great with the white wheels. Thanks in advance. Ted |

Re: The Photoshop Thread!
I'd like to publicly thank Unclebrad for something he did for us yesterday. He did a fantastic job considering the quality of the two pictures I sent him. Thank you again Unclebrad!
