Is it possible to rename this thread "vintage pictures" like the original thread, rather than vintage trucks? Most of the site is about vintage trucks. But this is about old pictures of these trucks when they were new, which has its own cool factor. And there are some very cool period photographs in here. Even where SKT and Wikid61 make us play squarebody Where's Waldo, haha. |

Here's a pic of the bottom of the hill mid-day on a holiday weekend with the vantage point of me standing on top of my suburban. There's a square in there somewhere which I'm sure is why I took the picture:smoke: Oh, and no sport stripe on the Burby hood. It either didn't have a hood or it was bent when I got it so was lucky to find one that at least complimented it from a junkyard back when you could find that sort of stuff. Drug the suburban out of a backyard without and engine for $300. It lost it's roof later in life. |

Here are some other pictures of it. First is how it looked when I first got it. Actually, the small used car lot I got it from also had a body shop. The original owner had Doeskin Tan painted on the side like factory 2-tone. That paint was chalky plus I wanted it solid color, so he gave me a deal on an overall paint job. I bought all new GM trim for it. It also had dumbo mirrors and I changed to N.O.S. Camper/towing mirrors. Also had him remove the tailgate trim. This was a work truck and the last thing it needed was a big brushed aluminum panel across a void waiting for it's first ding Attachment 2190615 I had my buddy letter and pinstripe it, as well as do a desert scene mural on the tailgate where the trim was. This picture is, obviously, on a jobsite. The red '87 K20 was my buddy's who worked for me Attachment 2190616 A glimpse on the job Attachment 2190617 And where's Waldo? Attachment 2190618 Here is the '78 Scottsdale Camper Special I had a while before that '84. It had a wood floorboard |

Cool. Looks like some nice homes and some nice work. A great trucks. Don't you wish we could keep them all.

Keep 'Em All
It turns out that two story homes are not so great as you age out and stairs become your enemy....
 |
Re: vintage truck thread part two
It turns out the same is true for lifted 4wds with big tires

Entry Height
It depends on the rig you buy ~ I tend to buy base model fleet spec. rigs so they're never very high off the ground and easy to get into and out of .

Found a few more of the red truck from when we were in Arizona.
This would have been 1990 - 1994 timeframe. K |

Here is another vintage picture I was personally involved with. My friend's wedding day at Rainbow Lake, NY, one of the Finger Lakes. He asked me to be his best man, so I grabbed my gal and ran on up in my '78 Silverado shortbed I showed in another post. The thing is, I forgot to grab and dress clothes. Not that it mattered all that much, but Rod (on the right) dug up some clothes and on with the wedding. That was 40 years ago. He and his bride are living in New Zealand now.
Oh yeah, the truck. That was Rob's |
Vintage Pictures & Memories
Wow, that takes me back a waays ! .
I was married on July 31st 1976 and I wore a powder blue tuxedo, I don't have any pictures but then and now I thought I looked ridiculous . |

Went hunting for the old square body paddy wagons we had locally and fell into the police car photos rabbit hole. Didn't find what I was looking for, but got some others out of it. All these photos are from policecanada.ca
