Exhaustion is a hinderance to all of us but pushing on is a must however no big write up tonight I'll just simply state that the interior is pretty much wrapped up excluding door panels which means I have now upholstered the audio panels for the doors and must I say they look awesome in person :metal: and we have the final white sealer stage for the bed fenders and cowl hood and cab will be our goal tomorrow and then I'm on the hunt for the correct height of the factory top stripe under the top molding (help much needed on this area) night all!

What did you wrap them with? Is it a carpet type product? I cannot tell from the photos. They look great! I saw bolts in the bare but after they were wrapped I cannot see how you mounted them.

Re: 1972 Chevy p/u NewType Build

Mike- Yes it's the high grade carpet pretty similar to my floor carpeting just used 3m spray adhesive and yes the wood is held together on its own by screws for the raised section and recessed Allen head bolts with t-nuts to keep the bolt solid then I drilled holes through the door for the bolts to go through and then the nuts hold the panels to the door from the backside. Forgot to document that for you guys

Re: 1972 Chevy p/u NewType Build

Not a whole bunch done today but we do have the cab wetsanded ready for paint as well as the hood and I'd say about half of it is taped off for paint had to pull the carpet back on the door panels to sand away the built up area because it was rubbing the sill plate gotta say that 3M stuff is a tough SOB to get off but we got it done. polished the overspray off of my grill with a little steel wool worked great and got most of the leftover black ring around the grill so it looks much better now. Hoping to have the white done and drying by wednesday but we will see the deadline is now within a week and we have yet to sand all the wood as well as stain and clear them and fit them back in so we have a ton ahead of us to do but I'm diggin the crunch time feeling haha

Getting hung up by weather out here it's just far too windy to be painting outside a barn in the middle of a farm (oh did I mention none of the paint has been done within concealed doors?) anywho looked at some toners for my original wood tonight probably gonna go with Cabot natural I like a lighter wood for the bed so maybe begin staining this thursday gonna check out a complet two tone truck tmrw night as well to get the top molding split height so we know where to start with the red. gonna check some projects out then hit the hay

Re: 1972 Chevy p/u NewType Build

Well boys yet again this weather is plaguing me and has yet to let up and I am now less than five days away from my deadline after I projected a full week ahead of schedule on this completion so I am feeling the curtain closing quickly here with the wood yet to be stained and placed inside and the red to have been painted. I did manage to tape her all of for the night and get al of it together for a photoshoot and line up for where the split will go so heres some eye candy until a finished product can be seen (looks like tuesday night at soonest)

Also go to meet the C-10 king today and was welcomed in the C-10 club with open arms so I'm ready to rock a patch for them and show these valley kids that these ole "farm trucks" have some true class for the summer shows

thanks for looking -Dylan

I know I talked to Rene this weekend in Modesto at an event and I soooo want to to go but I'm unsure my motor would be able to
Make the long trek like that it's Never gone further south than Madera so I'm a little sketchy about it right now

I know the feeling about the questionable engine. I had no question my truck could make it from San Diego. Well it made it to the parking lot 100 miles from home then died UGGG! I am not missing it this year.
