Re: Chucklepics
It can take up to 48 hours for many memory foam mattress toppers to swell up. We've used a few of them. Especially this last mattress we bought was what the wife wanted but it was hard as a dern rock. The salesman told us to stand up on the mattress and jump on it and walk all over it to break it in. I said "really, you are telling two 65+ year olds to do that"? Idiot!
|
Re: Chucklepics
Unbelievable. "Just have your dog jump all over it" or "Put a rug over it in the middle of the floor and walk on it a couple months".
This one seems comfortable as my Tempur-Pedic. It's a tight squeeze in the antique oak bed. Those old beds tend to run a bit small. It was my bed from my teens. I didn't think about it, but I only ever had custom cut foam for a mattress. |
Re: Chucklepics
These memory foam mattresses are quite the invention, great invention .. but this is where one could go wrong.... I had an extra one from a bed in the house and decided to make it fit the camper bed .. I laid down on the living room carpet floor and measured how much I needed to cut off to fit the odd size camper bed.. I cut it off and took it out and laid it one the camper bed and it was about 6 inches to short......... MY MISTAKE was when I Laid it out on the living room carpet floor ,it stretch itself and therefore my measurement was wrong as memory foam schrinks and stretches end ways too..

Re: Chucklepics
This would be like my Chihuahua dog. He's always breaking out but never goes anywhere. It's like he just wants to show you that he can do it. I've tried everything to keep him in. Forget it. He still gets out. Then sits at the front door and waits to be let back in.

i'm not seeing 1954 there. Looks like they used '65 Pontiac headlights. But I can chuckle at it. That's for sure. Looks like what people are doing now with photoshop.
Here's a "whoops" picture |
Re: Chucklepics
Wayne Carini owns that Corvair wagon in the pic. There was an episode about it on his show Chasing Classic cars. The first production Corvair was 1960 (I'm pretty sure). The concept cars for the 1954 Corvette were first called Corvair. They built one in a wagon version (again, I'm pretty sure). Definitely not the one in the picture =)

Yep, in '54 GM showed a Red "Corvair" concept car in their Motorama show, first. A fastback version of the Corvette. I guess they combined Corvette and Belair. I think they only showed that at one show. Then they built one in Seafoam Green.
