Also ordered the Dakota Digital VHX guages and a custom panel from Boese engineering. I requested no LED holes for indicator lights and no ball milling marks on the face. If you ever try to order this panel for VHX and the guy tells you they are the same size as VDO... They're not. Had to have the holes machined another .15" to get them in there. No polished aluminum? No problem. Was going to paint the gauge pod but now highly considering hydro dipping in a carbon fiber or machine turned finish.

I thought for a second, NO.... but as it turns out it's not a super chop top after all. I like the idea of the flush glass too. This puppy just keeps getting cooler.
Keep up the good work. More pictures please :chevy:

Thanks! I'm not sure a lot of people get where I'm going. Sometimes subtle is better than a hammer to the face when it comes to mods. I wonder how many people will walk by this thing and never notice the chop OR the bed. Three new posts in a day enough pics for now?

My part time employer and pretty much best friend (after my dad) put new tires on his GTR and gave me the old ones so I could set the truck on the ground and check ride height. These tires are shorter than what most people use but I really like them. My problem right now is that the front is 3/4" higher than the back. I don't have the engine accessories, any interior or AC equipment, etc so I wonder if I'll have to get a hair shorter spring? Will wait until assembled.

I think it'll settle down a little more than an inch after assembly. Wait before you play with the springs.

More side work has taken time from the truck but at least I had fun. Was supposed to come up with a cover to hide this ugly bed on a 59 Chevy. Bad news is he only gave me a week to do it.

Welded up a frame from square tubing. Cut and router some wood. One coat of conditioner, two coats of stain, and 3 coats of urethane clear. There's some dust in the clear that I wanted to sand and buff but ran out of time. He plans to have it in the Starbird show in a couple days.

Started working a weld seam. Anyone who whines about bodywork on a fender or hood needs to try straightening a 47 year old truck bed. Between the rust pitting, dents, and all the ribs this thing is a nightmare!
