ooo thats awesome. Those are some sweet rides. What year are you? I have to get it done by this year because its my senior year. I'm not too far from the school so if it was just drivable but not quite legal...I could take all the back roads and if I were to get stopped.....I would think I could talk my way out of it

Victory!!! That is a great color. Are ya plannin on doing a stripe or a second color anywhere or will this be solid?

Victory red! :metal:

If mine was a fleetside then I'd maybe like to have a silver pinstripe to break it up if not a second color. With a stepside, I like the solid look because of the different lines it has.

if only you could make trim for a step side that would be sick!

yea that'd be pretty cool!
Got a lot cleaned up and primed today. There's black epoxy primer under all the high-build. After I took the bed off, I tilted the cab back and now have a MUCH better angle for painting the firewall.

I'm glad I could help. I think some people heat up the frame and hit it in to get the box to fit but I thought what I did would be best. I really appreciate it and will do!

Re: Project: 1967 C10 Small Window

Good lookin build man, Its nice to see us young guys buildin trucks. Im pretty much the only kid at school that can change my oil without breaking somethin. Everyone else takes their vehicles to a shop to get it fixed. I really respect people that do things theirselves.

David67 03-06-2011 01:20 AM

Re: Project: 1967 C10 Small Window

Thanks a lot yea I know exactly what you mean and I feel the same way. There's only a handful of people that I know that do stuff themselves. Most kids are lame these days.

grayharville 03-06-2011 01:23 AM

Re: Project: 1967 C10 Small Window

Very lame indeed. I have a few buddies that are into old trucks, but i still wind up doing most of the work on them. In the past year Ive repainted 1, dropped a motor in 2, and countless other maintenance work on my buddies trucks... owell, maybe one day theyll learn lol

that is so true my rineds all like what i am doing (but besides my best friend hector member fordsucks) they would never build one them selves but i am talking them into getting thses style trucks and then i can be there mechanic

Re: Project: 1967 C10 Small Window

Sound like a good way to get money Rick... All my friends are broke so i wind up doing work for free. lol

67chevy1series 03-06-2011 01:29 AM

Re: Project: 1967 C10 Small Window

haha well i will probably enbd up doing it for free haha but if they wanna pay me then that will be nice!

grayharville 03-06-2011 01:31 AM

Re: Project: 1967 C10 Small Window

Lol ive gotta start charging... Im too broke to be doin this for free haha

David67 03-06-2011 01:35 AM

Re: Project: 1967 C10 Small Window

Yea my friends really love my truck and appreciate the work that has gone into it but I could NEVER see them building anything of their own...or doing anything minor for that matter lol. Gray I see "86 chevy SWB, One day.." in your sig. There's a kid 2 years younger than me that has that exact truck. Also, one of my friends has a '71 f**d but other than that there arent any old classics.

grayharville 03-06-2011 01:44 AM

Re: Project: 1967 C10 Small Window

Hah, you should see that 86 SWB... Right now the only thing useable is the bed, front clip, and frame, The cab is completely trashed, it has over 3/4 in. of bondo in spots. No drivetrain and no interior. But, One day I want to do a frame off resto, With a 90 GMC clip, a 4BT or 12 valve cummins diesel w/5 speed, red and white 2 tone, ralleys, and either some flat top stacks or 6 inch rolled edge duals :metal:

I think that would be crazy and original. And the 20+ mpg would be nice too

David67 03-06-2011 01:59 AM

Re: Project: 1967 C10 Small Window

Man that'd be really sick.

Yea I'd love to have a 5 speed but I'm puting my 4 back in because it's really strong, it's in good condition, and really cool. Muncie SM420. Here's a link all about it- http://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge/sm420.htm
