The rear shock clears the tank.

Some updates....

- modified original crossmember to be used as rear tank mount
- a bunch of cutting and welding
- decided to not c-notch the frame at this time. I will see how the truck rides this summer and if I find it bottoming out then next winter I will yank the bed again and install the c-notch
- tank should be mounted tomorrow

Damn you are making some good progress! Its looking great. Looks like you know what you are doing but I can't see why you wouldn't notch it now? Beds already off why mess with it later? Anyway I'm liking the project!

Thanks man! What it comes down to is I need some time to research and design a c-notch that will not weaken the overall strength of the frame. I am towing a 10,000lb. boat with 800lb. of tongue weight and I really don't want any problems. If I find the axle bottoms out then it will be next winters project where I will design my own c-notch in CAD software and then run some structural analysis against the design to make sure the frame doesn't lose any of it's integrity!

Decided to tackle the hinged tail light door for the hidden gas fill. I have about 5 hours in the build. It's pretty close, I have some small adjustments to make and then pretty everything up but it's functional! Next will be to start building the custom filler neck!

That filler cap is a great looking piece great work!

Question. On your rear shackle and hanger kit whats with the home on the hanger you made just a lil more drop or alignment issues?

Reason i ask is i'm in the process of buying the same rear kit.

Yes I drilled the second hole to gain a little more drop. I was able to move the hole up 1.25" which gave me another 5/8" at the axle. Every little bit helps :)

Nice progress on the filler. What wheels/tires are you planning to run?

These are the wheels I am thinking about. I plan to run a 245/40 or 45 tire. I need to have Tennessee wheel & tire price me out a package. With the wheels milled down to 19.

I am running a stock tire (235/85-16) but I will be upgrading to a 19" rim this spring. Right now the lower control arm is the lowest point of the truck so this has to change. In addition I am not sure if the 235/85 would rub on the front fenders. I will try to get a picture of the inside wheel well.

In regards to the 101 questions, don't worry about it! That what these forums are for. I am more than happy to provide any assistance I can :)
