Re: Donz '72 LWB Shop Truck...

There's been a lot happening in the past 6 weeks… the day I was getting help installing the solid rear window, I also got a call to do a second interview for a job… I am entering into a semi-retirement situation with my tattooing and applied for a second job which will be a win-win situation… Following the 2cd interview, I was hired on with O'Reilly Auto Parts…;) Extra cash for my truck projects and a decent parts discount as well...:metal:

A week or so later, Rian and Martin (members from the UK) ended up on my doorstep and then we were off to Clemdaddy's Cruise-In…

See page 73 of my 65 build for more pics off the Cruise-In and the British Invasion…:mm:

Here's a pic of the '72 at Clem's…

Between visits from my mates from the UK, they stopped through on their return route, I unfortunately broke my leg...:waah: 4 weeks or so to go with this fun boot…

Upon the return of the Brits, I received the Power Brake Booster and Master Cylinder which was a freebie from Donnie, aka DWCardfan on the 60-66 board. He brought it to Clem's Cruise-In, but due to other life matters I had to leave just before Donnie arrived. So my mates were kind enough to carry the Booster from Fayetteville AR through KC, OKC, Tulsa, and numerous points in-between to my door a handful of days later… Thanx Mates!!! :metal:

I've been driving the '72 since the trip to Clem's in mid October, then yesterday morning, on my way to work I stopped to fuel up, and that's when this scene ensued…

Upon meeting the previous owner, he relayed that the 72 had a history of eating starters… He was right… seems there is a bad spot on the ring gear (which will be replaced in the near future) that claimed another victim…

I had this spare, and planned on swapping the nose piece because of different mounts, but the crack stopped that idea...:sumo:

Thanks to my discount at work, the price of the replacement starter was easier to bear…;)

till next time...:burnout:

Your not having a good month are you . I hope that's the last bit of bad luck for a while . But I guess if cars & trucks didn't have things go wrong it would be very quiet in the parts store .

Grabbing some popcorn and sitting back to watch this one. Great build. Blows my mind how resourceful, helpful and talented you guys are. Can't wait to get mine going. Learning a lot already.

1970 C10 LWB 2wd. 2 tone blue and white. 350 SBC with a 3 speed auto. All original. Needs a few things to be daily driven but not much. Runs great as is but i am used to modern conveniences like disk brakes. Oh and tires that aren't dry rotting. I like patina just not on my tires. :-)

I salute my fellow Veterans! :flag:

Yesterday was a good news kinda day… First, my visit to the ortho doc for X-rays showed that my leg is healing good (Praising God for healing) and now it's the walking boot for another 3 weeks or so, then an ankle brace that can be worn in a shoe…

Then, later in the day, the current owner of the '61 I plan on dragging home (if interested, drop by my 65 thread for info on the 61) came by the parts store. Following a chat about trucks, his '63 and the '61, we discussed my tattooing and it looks as though the '61 will be mine in exchange for some artwork..:metal:

That's good to hear the leg is doing better. Sounds like a good bartering trade too.

Oh no, Sometimes things happen and they have to be cut lose.
Word on the street says 2016 is going to be a better year. Can't get worse than 2015

How true.

But we do have blessings to count.... Think my road trip. I got to meet a bunch of incredible guys across the USA.

But better would be nice.

As you say Don, sometimes needs must
