hey Jim, thanks for checking in. i have been good, and i do have updates to post on the truck. Lately i haven't been in the mood to think about the truck though. i had hoped for a completion date for early september for the adirondack nationals but my body guy decided that wasn't good for him so it doesn't look like it will be done this year. :waah: Anyway, i will get some photos up later today to get this thread up to date, i promise!

Re: '72 C/10 Custom Cruiser Project

ok, here we go.

The truck came home sometime in mid may. not totally uneventful, my radiator got trashed but thats a long, crappy story.

the first thing was sanding the interior, with help from mom. (thanks mom!)

http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...7/100_2561.jpg
http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...7/100_2562.jpg
http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...7/100_2564.jpg

next we cleaned the frame, to prep it for some nice chassis black.

http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...7/100_2569.jpg
http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...7/100_2570.jpg
http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...7/100_2572.jpg

the rust encapsulator came next but i don't have any pics, and now the beds on,. but it will come back off to actually apply the chassis black.

so next was prepping and undercoating the bed.

http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...7/100_2637.jpg
http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...7/100_2638.jpg
http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...7/100_2643.jpg
http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...7/100_2640.jpg

that came out to my liking, but not perfect, but whose going to see it anyway.

now were in early july, almost time for the second sentence in body shop prison, this time for the bed, so it had to go back on the frame!

http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...7/IMG_0525.jpg
http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...7/IMG_0527.jpg

so it made it back to prison without harm and more bodywork began, then abruptly stopped.

http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...7/IMG_0528.jpg

no more stake pockets!

http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...7/IMG_0530.jpg
http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...7/IMG_0529.jpg

all smooth

http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...7/IMG_0536.jpg
http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...7/IMG_0537.jpg

now the word is collision jobs are WAY more important..... sooooo, it will have to wait, and i most likely will miss my wishful completion date.... ohh well.

http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...7/100_2648.jpg

and my most favorite parts so far

http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...7/IMG_0522.jpg
http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...7/100_2647.jpg

i also purchased a porter built stage one front and stage 2 rear basic kit which are on their way, i just need a switch box and a crap ton of fittings.

i painted my heater box too, (kind of random but it is progress i guess.)

Very cool project, late joining in but I'm gonna follow along from here.
You did a great job on the rust repair. I know how time consuming that can be. Keep up the hard work!
