Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
It's easy to do payments but paying a big amount I money at one time kinda sucks :/. If I had a compute or if my iPhone could post pictures then I would but it can't so that's the only reason why I havent posted pictures

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
Recieved my CPP rear calipers in the mail yesterday an also today my posi was sent out.
And on a somewhat truck related note I've been buying some new tools, there craftsman but that doesn't bother me I like them an there trade in policy and etc so ill have a nice set of wrenches to use on my rear disc and posi upgrade... I will take pictures of the whole process for you guys and then ill upload them somehow.. Stay tuned |
Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
Sounds good brother. And hey I'm a craftsman guy I take offense to that  just joking

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
Lol the only reason why I piste that was because I didn't want anybody trying to get on my case about getting craftsman, I really do like craftsman pretty much all of my tools are craftsman actually lol

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
That's true! I like a tool company that makes tools that are real hard to break, good in design an has a good return policy then there's nothing more you can ask for! So craftsman, snap on, Mac tools all good brands plus there all old school brands makes then even better.

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
Craftsman makes excellent tools.. a lot of mine are craftsman. Snap on and mac always tells me that I abused em..but they have some stuff craftsman doesn't...sigh

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
Well the posi install isn't going so smooth.. This is what I have and what I think I know:
The posi carrier is from a 67 12 bolt and was 4.11 gear ratio. My rear axle is a 71 12 bolt and is a 3.73 gear ratio. Now from what I understand the 3.73 and 4.11 gear ratios both use a 4 series carrier. So this is what I've done: I took the non posi 3.73 carrier out, and I left the pinnion in I didn't even touch it, then I took the ring gear off and installed it on the posi carrier I bought new bearings and installed them they went on just like they should of I also bought new races to go with the bearings when I went to go install the posi I ended up breaking one of the shims that came in my axle so I bought a shim kit so I set the carrier in and shimmed it almost every way possible I put equal amounts of shims and I couldn't even turn the differential it wasn't even budging so finally I got the differential to spin somewhat easily but that was with the shims on the passenger side and no shims on the drivers side... And if the carrier is moved to the drivers side then the axle shafts are going to move to the right.. So please somebody help me and tell me what I'm doing wrong I'm burnout on what to do.. :/ |
