nice metal work. I've got to start mine soon and have never worked on sheet metal. Is it easy to get the hang of?

I would say it's fairly easy to learn, especially if you've welded before. Take the time to learn on some scrap metal and then work your way onto part of your truck that's not very visible. Also be patient when cutting the new panels to fit. It's alot easier to take it off then it is to replace it. Keep your welder on the low setting and stitch weld around the panel to keep it from warping on you. Practice is the only way to learn so just get out there and do it!

Looks like you dipped the truck in pink marshmallow cream. It's cool to put a face with the writing. I have one of my guys and me posing in front of a '48 Ford we restored last year, I might put that up in my build section.

Like how the progress is comming along.

Now I just need to find some fenders, next week there will surely be filler dust everywhere!
Good news, I sold my bike Yesterday! That'll help out with the engine and paint budget!

Thanks, I'm sure we can find something to work on! I'll be at Steak and Shake Saturday for the show/meet.

I haven't done much of anything on the truck lately. I didn't feel like driving to the paint shop today so I started on this instead. I'll probably put two gauges angled toward the driver in it. I think I like it? It looks better in person, I promise.

The end is near my friends!
I went to the paint shop today and they were able to match my color very well after the scanner got them close. Then I spent nearly an hour trying to decide what shade of white looked the best for the top. Spent a couple hours doing all the seam sealing and starting the filler. The last two pics are just a reminder and to keep me motivated.

You're coming right along there bud. What do you think about a red pin stripe where the white meets the blue? Or some other contrasting color.

I was just thinking about that. I'm going to have it pinstriped but not sure what color would look best.

I wish! Hopefully next month it'll be there. I'll be there this weekend though, we're supposed to have pretty nice weather.

I cleaned and painted my frame and transmission today, then I finished the hood and grille so they're ready for primer and the body filler is about 95% done on the rest of the truck. I still need to either buy or repair my front fenders and then we'll be spraying down some paint!

Here's a sweet car I saw this weekend. It could be my trucks cousin when it's painted, it's almost the exact same colors. Hopefully I'll be able to park next to it in May.
