Re: "The way it is" 67'swb

Re: "The way it is" 67'swb
Grease guns suck, but I will never gripe about changing a tube. I remember when getting tubes of grease was like Christmas. Normally we would have to pack it in from a 5 gallon bucket. Talk about a PITA!

cstm68, here is a thread I started on the block hugger headers.http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=320079 Hopefully that helps if not let me know if you have any other questions.
Diesel, that sounds like a mess! I know how much of one I can make just from a tube let alone a 5 gallon bucket of slop! Mike, I am at home sitting by the phone waiting for your call! Why have you not called yet, were are you at? Just busting you chops, my Spiffy Wiffy and Toby are going to a horse show the first weekend of March and I will have that Friday off to so let me know. |
Re: "The way it is" 67'swb
Love the hot rod satin on the rims, it is so underused.

Re: "The way it is" 67'swb
Thanks slick67, some day the whole truck will be that color with some type of lighter green or tan grill and possibly roof. Have not decided yet?

Re: "The way it is" 67'swb
I'm taking that day off since my mom is in town... ready to powdercoat some hood hinges? looks like the snow will cancel my flight tomorrow night, i'll be out next week though..
|
Re: "The way it is" 67'swb
yes on the hinges and I will be interested to see if this snow turns out to be another big one.

Re: "The way it is" 67'swb
I came over last night... about 8:45pm or so... i'll swing by again tonight if you and Toby are around, same time frame. BTW i'll be 1,000ft over your house! shine a light if you guys see us, i'll do the same.... any plans for Friday?
|
Re: "The way it is" 67'swb
that is cool i saw you! i had flashed the back porch flood lights! did you see them?
as far as friday i plan on being here all day working in th garage, so you are more than welcome to come over. |
Re: "The way it is" 67'swb
mike, that was awesome! toby was stoked, he said thanks! he cant wait to go to school and be the big man tomorrow with a kick a$$ story to tell! thanks, that was cool!
just give me a call friday when ever you head over or just come to the back door and i will leave it open. if it is not to much of a pain could you bring that door over(passenger side) so i can get a baseline for the cab corner. |
Re: "The way it is" 67'swb
glad he enjoyed the UFO! I was heading that way at 8:30 but Harrisburg ATC wanted me to stay towards the south for an incoming plane, so we went to Lancaster and then swung back by on the way home. We had Night Vision Goggles on so we can see everything on the ground... Took me a minute to find your house since I didn't pull the grid coordinate off the computer... hope your neighbors didn't mind, did the light show up on the ground?
Tell Toby that the flight cost about $12,000... |

Got some work done today that I have been waiting for the weather to coperate. I wanted to weld up the seams at the top outsides of the cab but had to sandblast it before welding. It was very rusty and had some pockets that i could not get all of the crap out with a wire wheel. It took longer than I had expected but came out good.

the wife took the kids to riding lessons tonight so i had some time to work. i had purchased some skip white stainless steel 1.6" roller rockers awhile back and got them on tonight. hope they work as good as they work. one thing lead to another and had take some stuff of to powder coat that i had previously painted cause at the time my powder gun was on the blink. depending on what our plans are for tomorrow night might completely drop my oil pan and powder coat it too.

Re: "The way it is" 67'swb
Makes me want to get one of those powder coating machines.
|
Re: "The way it is" 67'swb
thanks guys, if you have some extra money and dont know what to spend it on I say get a gun. you cant beat the price of podwer after initial cost. about the only other cost is for the electric.
mike I was going to make mention of the cookie but figured no one else would get it! dude when I opened the oven door after the 20min. my garage was full of smoke! I think there was a little glob of assembly lube that was on the back of the timing cover and caused all of the smoke? that is the only thing I could think of that I had gotten on there for it smoke like that! had to use the box fan to fumicate! |
Re: "The way it is" 67'swb

Re: "The way it is" 67'swb
heath, i have used the eastwood gun till it broke and they told me it was a throw away gun after a couple years! i have used several powders and cant find any better than columbia coatings brand. so when my gun took a dump i looked at the ones cc had. i bought there "hyper smooth pony" it is a little more than the eastwood junk and it is adjustable from 30-50kv, which is nice. you cant beat there customer service, prices and freebies. they gave me a full book color chip chart and other stuff when i bought my gun. you cant go wrong with any of there products imo!
