Well somehow, I pulled oncall for the Dec 22-29 the day I got home off the plane, and have just been full out since. I started to paint calipers last night, need to drop off axle shafts at Midwest to get turned down to fit the rear disks on them. once that is done I can put the rear axle together. After that air lines and brake lines, frame is done. Still waiting for some wheels to show up, rears are in but no fronts.

Also picked up a 68 Long GMC for $100 lastnight, pick it up this weekend. Figured it would be a good thing to have for parts, cause I know I am going to spend more than that on little stuff. From the pics it looks like it has lots of usable stuff if you need.

nice work, well I'm gonna continue to be jealous of you guys and wait out the weather with my crazy work schedule and occasional sled tripm and if i quit wreckin my dd I may just be able to really infuse this old build in april

Did you sell that tailgate yet? A guy at work is putting together an 80's stepside and is looking for a NOS gate. Let me know.

tantrumpipeline 01-07-2011 09:52 PM

Re: Finally starting the 68swb fleet

still have it, but I'm leaning towards keepin it, you can find NOS gates online for $500 and a repro is $300 so I'm not jumping to sell it just yet, but I want the smoothe or louvered one a bit just because of the type of build I'm doing, if he wants to come look at it and see the small ding and shoot me an offer I will sell it if it's worth while

thanks, 2-3months and I will be back at it, it's hard to go into the grage and see it sitting there, parts all over and ready to be painted/installed, and the only thing holding me back is weather

It's warmed up alot lately but I'm pre occupied with work and sledding when I'm off to do much, but with all you guys and your projects, it's starting to eat at me a bit;)

+7 today, that means you can work with the door open. Now what's your excuse, the snow is all set up and can't ride on it anyway. Looks like I have to start working on mine now, blew up my diamond drive yesterday @ Allen Creek.

Ouch, good excuse for a lightweight dd install, we're still finding some decent riding, pretty well just riding whatever I can, picked up an 11 M8 last week. Want to start the truck build again but I'm just lacking interest lately, it would be nice to get the house cleared of all the parts and boxes though:lol:

Wow!!! nice work!!:metal: still enjoying the sleds though when I'm not run ragged with work, put 500km on the m8 and 3 or 400 on the king cat so far, you have been very busy by the looks of it, your wheels show up yet? have to come see your project in a few weeks once works calmed down and we get the sled camp outta Kakwa, then it's back to the 68, between you, spike, and the rest of you guys and all the updates I'm definitely ready to get back at it, but right after sledding season:lol:

DCoffey 03-12-2011 12:42 AM

Re: Finally starting the 68swb fleet

This has been sitting like this for a month or so now. Going to head out to kakwa on sunday, might as well since I have not unloaded my sled from the last time out. Open the door, drive in, and turn off the key, shut door. Repeat in reverse to go out on the next ride.

tantrumpipeline 03-12-2011 12:09 PM

Re: Finally starting the 68swb fleet

Nice, I've put 500 on my M8 and a couple on the king cat, decent season so far
