I cant touch anything in that condition down here in South Florida for that price. Everything that is available down here is a rust bucket! Still has a freshly rebuilt straight 6 and 3 on the tree. That motor/tranny wont be in there much longer though.

You definitely scored....I think I paid more than I should, just south of Daytona Beach.....but once I get a chubby for something it's going to be mine..

you need to find someone that can set it up for you if you have not done one, clearances are very important if not set propley you will burn out the rear end

I def wouldnt do it myself....I would take it to a speciality shop for sure to upgrade the gearing or just swap in a different rear end. I read about people putting in s10 rear ends and camaro rear ends.

Oh yeah! I mos def Love the stain on that bed,...and thanks so much (dg and bugz) for all the advice and pics!! I could most likely go with steel/painted bed strips, and cheap wood and have it done in a couple weeks, but now after seeing these works of ART, I'm thinking seriously about buying up quality pieces here and there and taking my time on it. Patience, however is NOT my strongest quality..lol

I'd Love to be able to do all the work myself, but again, and to my advantage, I do have a few friends that are more than willing to help out with some of the work in which I'd be lost without,...not to mention you guys, with the advice and input. Thanks again!!! :flag:

I still think that touch of red hidden behind the beauty rims and caps would look good.

Bugz, If you to decide to go with the 18"/20" wheel look, PLEASE contact me about your current rims if they are 5 lug and aren't already spoken for. :)

Thanks for your input

It should be 3.73 with the 3OTT. Either way, there will be no need to change the gear if you go with an LS/elec OD trans.

I do need a front bumper, but even though my truck is a '72, I'll actually be looking for a good deal on a '67-70 front bump. I just really like the '69 & '70 grille style.

every time I see this picture I think that this is definitely one of my favorite trucks posted on here.

Would you post a pic or two of the interior?

No...you don't need no stinking bumper... but seriously, if you do go bumper-less you have to cut the front of your frame off.

Thank you....I found a mechanic on the internet who went and inspected the truck for me and took some pics. He told me it was in good shape with some minor paint issues. He said it was a nice truck over all and that if he had the money he would buy it for sure. He had a 74 fleetside himself. The truck is South East of Sacramento in the Sierra Mountain area. It is being relocated to a dealers warehouse in Stockton, Ca to make it easier for transport pickup. I finally got it assigned to a Hard enclosed trailer today for its journey across the country to South Florida by next Friday or Saturday. Cant wait to get my hands on it and see it in my garage!
