brought this one home a few weeks ago. cleaned about 600 lbs of junk out of it. found the latches for the sliding rear windows while doing it. still has the original front seat.

i was going thru some of my junk and found a pair of lift arms for the hatch. still kinda looking for a single support arm for the liftgate but other projects have to come first.

They can be, but the pointed end is also used on the trucks and is available (I believe) from the aftermarket. Looks like this on the burb (first pic), front of GMC (second pic)...

Rocktonka- thats a good looking burb, looks solid too. must be nice to live where the iron mites dont attack your truck. your trim looks like stainless ,I think the trim on mine is aluminum. maybe different years? gmc verses chevy?
found the pointed piece for $16 and fender moulding for $21 in the truck shop catalog.

Here's what I bought and have coming my way. It's in WA and I'm in WVa.

http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTE5N1gxNj...sl0Q~~60_3.JPG

I have plenty of plans for it, but first will be getting it up to speed mechanically. I know it needs brake work. It's been almost 20 years since I worked on standard brakes (not disc). Engine and tranny are supposed to be good. I'm sure it'll need new hoses and iginition wiring, probably points and condenser.

From the above posts I see it has the custom trim including the pointed piece on the door.

Dude, I totally agree! I'm figuring a 2-3" lift on mine with some 35s. The body will be a darker/brighter blue with the white top.

Thank you. I really dont have any history on it. i was driving down a back road last week and saw it on a flat bed so I asked the guy if it was for sale and we worked out a deal. it has a 327 w/ a powerglide, ac, ps, all 3 seats and its factory black. btw did you have your 65 suburban at hot august nights in Reno around 2003?

All the endless searching and rarely do I see any so well equipped as your accidental back alley find .. and NEVER in factory black ...that's just insane.
As far a Reno '03, nope I wasn't there and it's very unlikely the '65's original owner was either.
