Nice build. Youre making pretty constant progress. i have a question though. what did you use to strip the paint/undercoating off the firewall.

I didn't know you were just about done. Doing an ls swap is easy than a frame off so I don't think you will have a problem with it. But yea I believe they make an adapter plate for the trans, I can't remember, but I know people have done it.

Thanks, and to be honest I'm not quite sure. I know I started with a remover from advance that was in a spray can, and then I just got some liquid paint stripper from home depot. It was a mess either way, but I used a puddy knife and it came off pretty well, and then sanded down to metal.

Well I have been working on the cab some now, I cut pieces to fill all the holes I wanted to fill on the firewall, so just have to get them welded now, as well as the floor cut outs. I finally got the cab mounts figured out and was able to set the radiator support on the truck to test fit the radiator and trans cooler. I also set the cab on the truck for one final time before paint to check clearance with the different lines and trans in final place. Next thing is to order 3.73 gears and get the rear set up so I can order the driveshaft.

Didn't get much of anything more done. Realizing how much time metal work takes. I have been filling the holes in the firewall, trying to get rid of the seam, as well as working on the rockers and cab corners on each side. I put the fenders on for more fitment and trying to figure out where everything is going under the hood. I'll post more pictures later.

Quick update. I just got a LH battery tray, along with an 83-87 lower grille panel so I can run an '85 grille, and the smaller mirrors. I also just ordered some pieces for an intake. Should work on the truck a lot some more this week so hopefully will make some progress.

Just fyi, if you are ordering a new driveshaft, maybe consider a stronger rear diff yoke connector to the driveshaft if you are rebulding that anyway at the same time.

Your motor will blow apart the smaller diff yoke I think with all that LS POWER!!

Thanks for the heads up, I was planning on doing a 1350, and just letting whoever I get to make my driveshaft supply it, are you running a 1350?

Re: 1982 C10 swb "SS"

1350 front and a 1350/1310 in the rear...which will be all 1350 when I get my new rear end.

Okay thanks, well I got the battery tray switched to the drivers side, required drilling two holes but went better than I expected. My intake pieces should be on their way so I'll start to get that worked out. I should get a picture or two up tonight.

Forgot to take a picture of the battery tray on the driver's side, but here are two of the start of my CAI. I didn't want to spend $300 on an intake that I could piece together for less than half.

Well I got a chance to work on the CAI yesterday. I pretty much have everything laid out the way I want it. The MAF should go in between the filter and elbow. Just need to find an upper radiator hose or make one...it's a tight fit. Where should I put a support rod? I could do almost anything, come off the core support, frame, or even head. What do you guys think?

How are you making out Jordan? I test fit my 6.0 in the blazer last weekend. Now I'm going to take it back out and do the same paint on the engine as you did. Gives us some updates.

Thanks for all the compliments, It's been a while since I've done a lot of progress on the truck, but still working on the cab. Progress is very slow with my last semester of school winding down, but should be picking up soon. Here are some of the pictures of the cab from working over winter.

Specs:

Any issues with the fronts rubbing or catching the lip of fender? I'm getting mixed reviews on the backspace because that's what I just ordered for mine.
