Hello
I have been asked by other forum members do I have a black Corvette. Yes I do indeed have a 1963 Corvette and it’s and original black car black interior and soft top. I owned it for 16 years and bought it right after my second finance decided she wasn’t ready for marriage and I wasn’t ready for marriage either!. For Florida that not a great combination. Here are some pictures. Pete http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a...1&d=1625952360 http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a...1&d=1625952360 http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a...1&d=1625952360 |
Re: Hi this is my other car.
Now that's a classy looking Corvette for sure ! Love it Pete. Triple black in Florida may be be a tad warm at time but the "look" of such is stunning. What engine is sitting under the hood? Years ago I had a '65 Impala SS with a 300hp/327 factory 4 speed, tach, buckets and console. Have kicked myself many, many times for selling it. But then, in the early 70's, who knew what they would become in todays classic automotive world, huh?

She can get up and go like your Impala 327 300 hp 4 spd. My car came the same way from Factory. I added AC just because it’s frickin hot in FLA. I’m going to add factory power steering I collect from other mid year corvettes and add it. 👍🏻 |

Housing in Sarasota is skyrocketing again. Things are getting more $$$ here. 👍🏻 |
Re: Hi this is my other car.
I'm digging the Vette, and the Cobra. I had a '64 Impala with the 300 HP 327 and a 4 speed. Not an SS, but a convertible. It was fun, but I got married, and...
I should have kept it. I could trade it for a house in Sarasota Springs! :D |

Topless/convertibles huh? Can I join the club?
This one is slightly more 'eco' since it's just a 4cyl/OD set-up & it's made by the other team but you can't get gas w/o a conversation.... |

I have a friend in the early 2000 that had a AC Cobra with a 427 side oiler he enjoyed driving it very very fast. Lost control of it spun around 2 or three revolutions and ran into a ditch very hard. There was not much left of the car and my friend broke his arm and leg. These old cars definitely have their limitations. |

Besides my 61 Apache 10 project, my other car is a 1962 Dodge Dart 330 sedan. Slant 6, push-button automatic, power steering, and factory A/C. Fun car to drive as most folks have never seen one. I know, a face only a mother could love! GPK1961

Re: Hi this is my other car.
Early on Dodge just didn't have much in the way of looks body wise but that slant 6 would run forever. Very dependable. Just feed it some gas and oil and it was happy. Nice looking interior. :chevy:

Re: Hi this is my other car.
Thanks, Iron - the Slant is a good engine. The best thing is over-assisted power steering with a thin 60's steering wheel!! gpk1961

Re: Hi this is my other car.
Hey now... this is a interesting little thread. I always kinda wonder what other toys lurk in the back of ones garage. I often search the images to see what I can find. Ah'm thinkin' I saw that Rivera in the background once before... but..uh, shoot... I can't remember where I parked yesterday so maybe I'm mistaken. That Riv' sure does have nice lines tho. Always had a soft spot for those stock A model Fords like SCOTI has.
My other car is a ratty old '66 Dodge which gets around 10MPG... ironically that's the same lousy fuel economy as my '64 C10 gets. But they are both simple, dependable and paid for, so no complains from this 'ol hick. |

Re: Hi this is my other car.
Hello
I had a friend that had a 1971 SS 350 4 spd highly modified. He would drag race a lot. One night drag racing another friend with a 1969 Z28. Lost control of the Chevelle and ran into a front yard and went through the living room of neighbors house. Nobody was hurt except for the Chevelle it was totaled. Aww yeah good times. |
