Second Chance Suburban (SCS)
2 Attachment(s)
I bought this 71 suburban on ebay for 400 dollars with the plans on cutting it up to build a 3 door pickup went i got it home my friends were saying dont cut it built it and make it a family ride so the ideal stuck with me so i started work on getting a title for it sence it only had a bill of sell went i bought it and a little over a year i now have got a title for it so now its time to start on it i have been buying parts for it i bought a 98 silverado for the drive train and a set of 96 suburban seats so maybe i can get some good ideals from this site for it

Re: Second Chance Suburban (SCS)
OK, here's my idea. Stock, with some minor upgrades. Drivetrain-wise almost anything is possible because it's a Chevy. Since you mentioned it could be a family ride, put a/c in it, a 350 maybe with fuel injection and a 700R4, the right rear gears. If you do most of the work yourself you'll have a basically new Suburban, but at 1/10 the price. And way cooler.

Re: Second Chance Suburban (SCS)
Looks like a great start. Wish mine had been that rust free. I see they removed the spare tire well. I have that piece if you are interested in putting it back in.
Keep posting progress pictures. They help motivate the rest of us as well. |

well the weather held off this weekend other then the cold part so i got to spent some time to work on the suburban i had order some patch panel parts from classic parts two weeks ago to fix the drivers side rocker so i know i have two take the fenders off so i just went ahead and took the hole front clip off i need to do some cleaning. and cut whatever kind of motor mount that was welded to the frame and start getting ready to fit it for its newer motor also thinking about put a 67 front clip on it
