Re: 1969 Chevrolet C20 60K Original Miles/Original Paint
Thanks for the positive comments guys...
It's better in person, than the photos let on, and mechanically, is a sweatheart of a truck that I've spent a lot of time/$ sorting out. While a guy can always "tinker", it needs absolutely nothing to be a daily, and runs/drives as well (straight/tight/quiet) as most vehicles 30 years newer...... I was planning pulling it out and shooting a ton of photos this weekend, but the weather has sucked. (COLD, and now this morning...snow). Not pulling it out of the heated garage until it's at least above freezing. :waah: Stay tuned....... |

Dang, why are you only 4 hours away!

Still too crappy out to take fresh/sunny/nice photos. Hopefully tomorrow (Saturday) I did find this one on my computer however. Pulling our old '69 Forester Camper. This pic was taken a few years ago before I replaced the camper bumper with stock bumper. And replaced the 16.5 wheels (ordered new with truck) with the white 16" currently fitted. |
Re: 1969 Chevrolet C20 60K Original Miles/Original Paint
That combo is too cool. Is the camper for sale??

Re: 1969 Chevrolet C20 60K Original Miles/Original Paint
Finally above freezing AND sunny out! Time for some better pics.
Truck has been in heated storage for well over 3 months. She started up instantly, and while getting it up to temp, took a slew of photos. The white paint on the roof on the cab is just about perfect. The original owner ordered this truck to haul a slide-in camper, so roof was always covered and out of the weather. Truck was stored indoors when not being used, and the low miles was due to the fact that this was only used as a summer "camping" vehicle. It had a beautiful Alaskan camper on it, which I tried to buy, but he wouldn't let it go!!!! Truck was ordered without a rear view mirror, has helper springs (for camper weight), and dealer-installed hold down hooks on bedside. I mentioned above that the truck is 99% rust free... If you were able to figure out the true "rust-to-solid metal" ratio, it would probably be closer to 99.5% rust free :) I've owned 5 year old vehicles with more rust..... The two areas of visible "through" rust are small hole on top/center of firewall (from leaves/debris sitting in tray and holding moisture), and the typical spot on inner fender below battery. I've taken photos of these two areas. The rocker and sill paint is still original. When I pulled the original vinyl flooring, there was a small amount of the typical rust at the kickpanel-to-floor area. It was not yet "through" rust, so areas were cleaned, treated, and small stainless patches were 3M panel-bonded over the areas for rigidity. From the bottom of the truck, it looks factory original. Floor was then painted/soundproofed/carpeted. I used the remainder of the turquoise paint to "roll" (foam pad) the bed of the truck just to clean it up a bit from scuffs/scratches. Tailgate still has original paint on backside, so you can see what the rest of the bed looked like before rolling it. There is no other cancerous rust on truck. I've owned at least 20 of these trucks over the years (still have 4 of them), and this is one of the most solid, unrestored pickups I've ever seen. ***PENDING SALE***
Would really like for this to go soon guys. I am quite literally out of room!!! I've been sent messages from a number of guys now saying that I should put it on Bring A Trailer. I've thought about it, but this is the only place that I have this truck listed for sale at this time. Spring is just around the corner! |
Re: 1969 Chevrolet C20 60K Original Miles/Original Paint
I need those dealer emblems on the fender. LOL. Has my last name on it. Good looking 3/4t.

Re: 1969 Chevrolet C20 60K Original Miles/Original Paint
I don’t think it’s that expensive to list a vehicle on bring a trailer. I think you would reach a much wider audience and for the cost of the insertion fee put the reserve at your lowest price and see what happens. I’ve been amazed at some of the high prices some of these vehicles go for. I’ve also been surprised by a few that haven’t sold. I think it takes a couple weeks for the ad to get listed so you may want to at least reach out to them.
Beautiful truck and good luck with the sale. |

Re: 1969 Chevrolet C20 60K Original Miles/Original Paint
Have you considered using Craigslist? I listed a 55 Chevy car in the "North Dallas/Ft Worth" section back in 2014 and had guys almost stepping over each other to buy it! Wanted $18K, got $20K. it probably would sell for $30K now, but that's another story.http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/i...cons/icon9.gif
I've also sold all kinds of take-off parts on CL, from cylinder heads to carbs to wheels and tires. |
Re: 1969 Chevrolet C20 60K Original Miles/Original Paint
I may post it up on Craigslist, but man, the goofballs that come out of the woodwork when dealing on that site is quite amazing.
Figured this place, of any would be the best suited to true C10/C20 truck enthusiasts, who actually know what they're looking at!! One of my friends sold a car (Triumph Spitfire) on Bring a trailer, and it took almost a month for them to get everything listed/figured out/etc. I'm not looking to win the lottery on selling this truck. It is well worth EVERY single penny of my asking price. |

And I would do cash only, or go with the buyer to his bank and get a cashier's check. Or if his bank isn't local, then get a cashier's check and call his bank to confirm it's good. |
Re: 1969 Chevrolet C20 60K Original Miles/Original Paint
Put it on bring a trailer or any auction site for that matter. People pay stupid money for these trucks there. People competing for it on a timeline will keep bidding with their egos and wallets because they don’t want someone else to “beat them”. One guy looking at it in your driveway doesn’t feel any pressure and will hem and haw. The seller wins every time in an auction situation. You will get more than what you are asking for it right now. That’s a really nice truck.

Howdy Guys...
well, I think that I've been talked into putting the truck up on bring a trailer. A friend stopped by last week to drop off some parts. He's another Chevy truck nut, but doesn't do "internet". He is just about finished with a 3 year nut-n-bolt restoration of a '67 C20.... It is one of those trucks that will be too nice to drive. Every single inch of that truck has been restored beyond new. Kind of like a "perfect toy truck" sitting on a shelf. He knows C/K trucks very well. Anywhoooo... When I told him what I was asking for my '69, he basically called me a "moron" and told me I was leaving at least 5G's on the table. I told him that I'm not looking for "home run money", and he called me a moron again... Going to reach out to bring a trailer on Monday and see what it's all about. In the meantime, it's currently 1 degree (fahrenheit) outside, and the truck is still tucked away nicely in a heated garage...... Attachment 2176910 |
Re: 1969 Chevrolet C20 60K Original Miles/Original Paint
Yeah...........your truck should do very well on bring a trailer. I would love to see your friends truck once it's finish too. See if you can talk him into posting some pictures on this forum.

Congrats on the sale...I guess. However, someday you may kick yourself in the butt.;)
I sold a nice 82 SWB in late 2020 for what I thought was a high price. But only 15 months later it's probably worth at least 25% more.http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/i...cons/icon9.gif |
