Thanks Jeff (A.K.A. CPNE) for the nomination.

I’ve owned my truck for about 6-7 years now. I bought it from the son of an old farmer. Apparently it sat in storage for a number of years. The odometer reads just shy of 50k miles and I’m pretty sure that it is original mileage and paint.

It’s a fairly basic ND farm truck, but it has a few interesting options. The factory options include the CST package, Pin stripe, 327 4 speed, in-bed spare, Side trim, Wood floor and full gauges (except tachometer). I have added full 67-68 wheel covers and correct bumper guards for the 68's. The only option that’s not original is power steering which I added shortly after I bought the truck.

A couple of years ago due to the fact that nearly every seal and gasket was shot on the motor (Due to its age) I decided to pull it, rebuild it and detail it up nice to factory appearance. I had the heads redone, the block ground .030 over and the crank ground at that time. All of the casting numbers are correct for my truck and all the date codes were from late spring of 68. This truck still sports all of the original AIR (smog pump) equipment.

My future plans are to repair a small rip in the seat, restore the finish on the steering wheel and find more correct looking tires for it. Someday I’d like to repair some of the minor surface rust and dings.

These days I just use it for bopping around town, light hauling and cruising. I get a lot of attention wherever I go. My two young kids especially like to ride in it with me.

Looks like I’ve got some tough competition!

I am humbled by your nomination 96Blzer! your truck looks great, and much more stock than mine. Mine looks stock at a glance until you notice that it has been lowered with a 2/4 drop, gas tank moved,72 sport mirrors, thats what you can see. Its a 67 with a 71 frame, power disc brakes, power steering, and a very strong 383 Stroker motor. My truck started life as a 67 LWB, 283 with a power glide. I was going to restore it, then I bought a 72 4WD that was a rust bucket but had a nice 383 Stroker Motor in it. Then I was going to put this frame and motor under my 67 until I came across a 71 SWB frame and bed for $500.00. So after about 2 years this is what I ended up with. I have always been into 4x4's and I absolutely love that 402 Bowtie truck! Still to do on my truck is 700R to replace the powerglide and a stereo.

Really not much to tell. I just bought it and had it delivered in October and have done the usual things when one gets a new (to me) Truck, i.e. change Battery, change fluids, total cleaning and assesments, but other than that I haven't done that much to it.
It's pretty much a no-brainer/driver right now other than a few things like a new Exhaust, change over to 5-lug/Disc and add on under-dash A/C unit.
The body is in fantastic shape (no rust at all), so not much to say there.
The Motor and Trans are a 350 4-barrel/350 Turbo out of a '77 Vette. It's an original Texas Truck. That's about all I know about it.

I hope it's OK that I added the theme. I missed the nomination thread and it took me a while to find this. James, no hurt feelings if you delete my post :D
