BBC Chevelle Headers

I know this subject has probably been beat to death but, has anyone used Hooker 2455 Chevelle headers on their Square body with a big block? I'm looking to change things around with exhaust and my heavy homemade double hump trans crossmember. I want to know if 1) they fit and 2) what mods my need to be done. I know that I will have to grind for ARP head bolt clearance. Anything else I need to know. Thanks in advance!

I used Hooker Chevelle headers years ago. Of course in the 80's I cut the frame rail a little for one tube to fit. They tuck up pretty high. I had a factory style transmission crossmember that I cut up pretty good for my 3.5 exhaust.

Refer to post 43 on page 2 of my thread. You can see how far the headers hang down. The pipes are off in that pic.

Did that help?

Yes. They don't hang as low as the truck headers. I am wondering if the Super Comp line fits the trucks. I wonder if it even matters. I am think about building a 540 down the road too. If I change these around, I'm going to put 3.5 exhaust on it too.
