69 grille,painting questions

Unfortunately I learned the hard way, don't try to remove a scratch from a anodized grille. After my dumb mistake I have done the Heavy Duty Easy Off thing, scrubbing, washing, sanding multiple grits, buffing and polishing until I thought my wife would be able to use it to wrap a "roast" in for dinner I am finally ready for paint. I am looking for any kind of help with, prep for paint, type of paint, advise on taping "CHEVROLET "letters,do I need a special tape. The person I purchased my truck from told me it is the original grille,I'm not sure about that. I have read a lot about this grille on this forum, questionable seems to be the answer to that.Any kind of HELP for me to paint my grille would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!

I'm in the process of doing mine right now, I have a letter kit that I bought for my grille. I had planned on maybe installing black lines by hand just before installing clear coat. Will be interesting to see how people have done it.

I wiped off the areas I was painting with lacquer thinner. Then taped off with blue tape & cut out CHEVROLET letter with an exacto knife .. took at little while to do but turned out good.

I'm sure that a lot of the vendors sell the letters, I don't remember where. If you go to the top of the home page and click on the search option and put in what you are looking for you will get a wealth of information.
