72 DG4 mirror semi restore
4 Attachment(s)
Bought these a while ago . Decided it’s time to do a polish on the bench buffer. On this one the stud was gone so I chucked it up on the drill press and drilled a 25/64 drill and put in a 3/8ths heli coil worked out great no pictures though . Need to get all new SS washers and nylon washers but I think it looks good . Passenger side will be easier as it’s all there . Glass is perfect in both just needs to be cleaned. And yup that’s my ugly mug after working all day

Hard to believe that's the same mirror -- it cleaned up very nicely!

Re: 72 DG4 mirror semi restore
That looks great!
If you were closer I'd see if I could talk you into polishing the big 'ol mirrors and stainless arms on the C6000  |

Now just need to get them on . Not exactly sure of the mounting position on the door but have a few pictures of them on trucks

Passenger side didn’t come out as well . The mount was steel so I had to paint it I’m assuming its aftermarket. And it wouldn’t take a good polish either

Re: 72 DG4 mirror semi restore
nice work on those mirrors!! and that trucks looks great :metal:
if you ever get bored, I'd be happy to send you mine  Quote:
although most purests typically want the correct mirror style on their truck, the folks that bought these trucks new didn't always follow that back then.. some of these trucks came with the small automotive or 'sport' style mirrors and were replaced at the dealer or shortly after.. depending what time of year truck was sold, which mirrors were in the parts dept. inventory, and when the customer or dealer installed them, either style may be found on other model year trucks.. and now of course 50 years later, anything goes  personally, I like these on this 71 so I was lucky they were already on there :) https://dl.dropbox.com/s/w1i9tlkhlci...58392.jpg?dl=0 |
