Fabricating my 69 C10, questions on Radiator and Disc?

5 Attachment(s)
I'm in the process of changing my front drums to Disc, 6 lug to 5 lug. I went to a junk yard and got a 71's front end. (Front A arms-Disc) I've just ripped the engine out of my 69 C10(388 stroker, 9.5 to 1 Compression!) and about to start unbolting the front end "A" arms. [Also in the process getting the new 71 Arms sand blasted to clean them up]
Question is?
I've heard getting a 71's front end disc I can unbolt my 69's front end and rebolt up the 71's front end "A" arms? Is that so with out having to fabricate anything?
Also: What year should I go find a "master cylinder" pump from to replace my small master cylinder? Or do I need to?
(As you can see, I know somewhat whats going on, but still in the misted of question exactly what steps?? So if you got any, I mean any tips...let me know! Please!)
Questions:

-Where can I find new or used(what year) brake lines to update the old school 69 ones?
-RADIATOR---what year can I find another radiator to replace my leaking one?
(If you have an online site please post!)
-I also have a 93 rear end axle with 3.42 gears in it to go 6 to 5 lug. On top of that instead of rebuilding my 93 drum brakes I just recently went to a junk yard and pulled 98 drums to upgrade to newer brakes!
-I've also heard the rear axle is shorter than the original 69's? Mine now is a 93 axle....is there a difference I need to look out for such as "spacers" or anything?

Sorry I'm rambling all over in this Thread. :\ But in different question because I literally am in the middle of this upgrade in drums to disc.
8X10 to 20's. lol

Any Idea where I can find a good deal on Wheels and Tires? (REAlly wanting the Torque Thrust or Torque Thrust II's) ?????

I'll try to post updating photos as my Summer Projects rolls on!! Pretty excited!

Re: Fabricating my 69 C10, questions on Radiator and Disc?

i'm doing the same to my 69 stepper. I am taking off the whole cross member and swapping out everything at once, the donor truck is also a 69 but had the swap done on it the same way. Holes don't line up perfect but not bad at all . The PO had just rimmed them out a little , I guess that's what I do if it lines up the same way on my stepper. PS super nice truck

Okay awesome! Thanks for the tips there!! I was wondering if holes matched up or not?
Do I need to take out the cross member or can I swap the "A" arms for the new "A" arms just by unbolting and rebolting with what seems a little modifying holes?

Where do you think you'll get your master cylinder from?? As well brake lines?

Thanks again!

i'm sure a arms will bolt up fine ,its just easier for me to do the whole thing, sand blast everything and install on my truck, that was mine is still a roller if need be, the donor truck had 72 brake booster and master cyclinder on it and the brakes lines as well

Okay! Awesome man!
I'll see what I can steal/find off of for new brake lines! And yeah, wish me luck...tomorrow there's a good chance I'll start tearing the old front end "A" arms off!! Pretty excited! Also switching out the Turbo350 tranny in there with the 700R4. Yeah we better gas coming my way! I say that because the Turbo350 with 4/11 gears was killing me. For sure with a 388 Stroker and a bigger cam to. haha
Where my new rear end is a 93 model with 3/42's for gears! So yeah I'll be driving it a bit more now! haha
Sorry, just felt like sharing some info on my old project with ya! :-)

Keep me updated on yours and how it's going!!??
Later,
~Tyler

You're putting a new engine in.Get a set of 4 row rad mounts and cushions and get a rad from O'Rielly's.IIRC it was right at $200.There's no sense in risking a new engine and I'll bet you never heard anyone say"My engine runs too cool!" Also get a good factory or aftermarket shroud.

Okay, Awesome man!! Thanks! I'll check out the Price here in AR and see what their charging. Your probably right, $200

I've check junk yards here and there, but your right, this engine has less than a 1000 miles on it and I do need to protect it and keep it cool, like you said!

Now I'm in the midst of finding the tires I'm searching for? lol
I'll post another thread up on it to get everyone ideas where, advice, etc!

Again, thanks so much for you time man! I'll try to keep my project process photos updated to for all my C10 buds to check out my work!
