Carbureted to fuel injected
I saw one of the TV car shows where they replaced the carburetor with a fuel injection system.
Anyone here have experience doing this? I currently have a 283 but I'm thinking about putting a 350 into my 1963 suburban. |
Re: Carbureted to fuel injected
I haven't done it but would like to know the same info. I too have a 283 and would like to hear different options for fuel injection. The only thing that I have found is that it seems cheaper to go with a 5.3 that is already injected.

You could go with a F.A.S.T.

Re: Carbureted to fuel injected
I have the Edelbrock Pro Flow on my 383. It is a port injection that works good up to 450 HP. It takes a long time to get it tuned unless you have access to a dyno. You can adjust spark and fuel according to vacuum levels. It was about $3000 to buy it.

Re: Carbureted to fuel injected
Now that the pro flo is dialed in, how does it run? Any hiccups? Run like an or system? Reliable? Would you drive 800 miles with no worries?
