I turn 40 in May and this was the first vehicle I ever had. I got it in March, two months before my 16th birthday. It has been in storage over 20 years until recently...

Frame degreased and cleaned for days...then POR 15 and chassis coat. All new ball joints, tie rod ends, etc. 4/6 kit from ECE installed. Cab remounted with all new hardware. Undercoating touched up. Cab is very nice underneath.

I have been very impressed with his work ethic and correspondence. He sends me pics all the time and asks before spending more of my $$$. Im down in Texas so it was quite a committment to tote it back and forth several times. He has a passion for these trucks and it shows in the quality of his work

These are my original emblems. I polished em and sanded the old enamel out, then painted em by hand. I think they are pretty nice for 41 years old.

Crash, Im just trying to use as much of "my" truck as I can. I wont use anything that wont clean up and shine good, you know what I mean. The 8-350 emblems are questionable due to pitting. My GM outer grille is spotless but kinda dull. I need to figure out what to polish it with. Thats a little ways down the road...:metal:

Cool story and truck. Screamin' seems to do great work, is it his side hustle or his main deal? Looks great anyway!

hfd410 10-21-2012 10:24 PM

Re: 24 years later....here we go

I really am not for sure. I think its a side hustle becoming full time. But you're right, who cares. He does really good work coupled with good bizness ethic.

Re: 24 years later....here we go

As far as the story, I saw the truck from the school bus on the way to school one morning. It had wire hub caps and a camper shell with a for sale sign in the window. My Pappaw had said he would help me find a pickup (buy me one) We went and looked at it that afternoon. He bought it with cash in his billfold and I drove it home...with no driver license. My grandma and parents freaked out. That will be 25 years ago in March. He was really alot of fun and had the mechanical aptitude of DaVinci. I would have liked to have done this when he could have seen it. Ahlzheimers and Parkinsons disease took him too soon...
